I had this exact same idea, but didn't do anything with it. The default background is just so awful, so I think this is definitely an improvement.

I've been thinking about how I would redesign the entire menu from the ground up, and obviously there will need to be some sort of minimalist background.

Thank you for this! I am, also, not overly fond of the background when you pick a world to play in. :/ It's a rather...ho-hum background. Nice but there's something about it that looks off when seen behind the blue menu; however, with your mod, it fits! It's Minimalistic and gorgeous. So, thank you for saving us all. Ha, ha!

I love what you done with the main screen. It looks really fresh compared to the one that originally shipped with the game. Thanks!

How can I go about combining this mod with "Gray UI" if you don't mind me asking?

Hi mrcnlbyrk!
I received your PM. You must have PMs disabled because I cannot respond to it

Anyway here is my response:
I don't think both mods can work at the same time. They are overriding the same thing. The only way to display your background (http://forums.thesims.com/en_US/the...es/bg-light.jpg) with my 'gray ui' is to extract and edit the same file in my mod. Then either upload only the updated file as a new mod (same way you did this mod, but remember about mod priorities) or I can release new full package of my mod with mentioned background included. Let me know, I already created new version with your background, but if you want to upload a new mod I won't release it. Your idea, your choice.

I'm sorry about that. However, I think I've enabled private messages. I've checked. I may be wrong either. I don't know too much about these options.
It's not problem for me if you're going to upload.
I've added you to my buddy list so you might send PM.

Hello, I've noted your request. However I don't think a dark background would look good with that blue UI. So I recommend you to use a UI recolor mod such as Gray UI, Black UI, and White UI. They have gray/dark backgrounds.

Well, I want something with color, not the void of, like maybe a navy blue one?

I tried navy blue, but it didn't look good. Instead, I made a dark slate gray one.
