To fix it, add them to a family and use it to convert them into local again.

I did convert them using Argon’s Townie brick when I made them, but maybe it doesn’t translate after being re-added via subhood. Hmmm… I will have to test it in my game.

But yes, the solution of reconverting them via Argon’s Townie brick should work.

Thank you so much! It's nice having townies that actually have unique faces instead of the boring face templates. I also appreciate that you made culturally appropriate locals, it always bugged me.

Can anyone help me to get the BV townies only to show up in my vacation hoods please? I've followed all the instructions (I think!) and have multiple subhood mod but I can't get anything to show up. It's not even coming up as a subhood that I can add. Thank you

If it’s not showing up, the two steps to check would be:

1) Do you have Mootilda’s Subhood Selection fix? (Link is in the install instructions)

2) Did you put the extracted folder that begins with a "B" in your Program Files\...\The Sims 2 Open For Business\TSData\Res\NeighborhoodTemplate directory? Because if you put it anywhere other than there it won’t show up as a subhood you can add (and the townies won’t be added to your hood unless you attach it as a subhood to your current neighborhood).

I truly need your help : I downloaded Mootilda mod and put the B folders and the N001 in the correct files you indicated and yet it doesn't work. It even totally erased my pleasantview file.
Is it just possible to copy/past file from the characters folder into the other one ?

Sorry I just saw this. I replied in your thread. Also, no. Sadly not possible to just move around character files in that way (I really wish it were that easy!)

Nice! I've got to ask though, is there a way to selectively place the vacation townies? For example if I only have Three Lakes, is there a way to only add the townies for that area instead of all of them?

Hello, I love the hard would you have put into recreating Townies. I have used the townies for one of my neighbourhoods however I have decided to create my own for a new neighbourhood I am creating and these townies are still generating in the neighbourhood. I have removed the N001 folder and replaced it with the clean and empty template in the programs files (neighbourhood templates) however no matter what I do this pool of townies continue to generate. Is there anyway to completely remove them?

That is odd! I have been able to remove them to create a different set of custom townies in my other neighborhoods. However, I disabled the N001 folder completely and didn’t replace it with the clean and empty version and this prevented any townies from spawning when I created a new hood. Try that and let me know if it works.

It's not quite as easy as stated if you have the Ultimate Collection. You have to look for ...\The Sims 2 Ultimate Collection\Best of Business\EP3\TSData\Res\NeighborhoodTemplate and add the subhood there.

Update: That didn't work either. Something is not right here.

Great mod ! Especially the bon voyage townie, finally you have locals that looks locals but they doesn't seem to know the local dance and salute as the others and it makes learning it difficult.

Yes, I don’t 100% know why the customs didn’t come across when downloading the hood. I used Argon’s Townie Brick to make them locals when I created them so they should have learned the customs. The fix is for you to download Argon’s Townie Brick and use Sim Blender to teleport them to your lot, use cheats to make them selectable, use the Townie Brick to make them the appropriate type of local (if it’s not working, try making them a normal townie and then make them a local). Make them unselectable again and clear them off the lot. Hopefully then they should then know all the customs.
