So to clarify completely, to add your edited lines into a wantstree package I already have, I extract the lines you have mentioned in the description, add them into my package, then delete the 'original' duplicate lines to keep yours?

I tried extracting and replacing the lines you enlisted.. and then just copying and pasting them, but sadly none of these options worked for me. It must just be me being a total SimPE dummy though, but I'd appreciate if someone could explain what to do to properly edit some other want trees file.

Yes, this method should work.

Or, try what I usually do. Open two SimPE windows side by side. Left - my file, right - your file. Select the same tree in both windows, go to Plugin View and copy the whole contents from my file to yours. See screenshot.
Make sure to select the whole text both when copying and when pasting.

This is great! Would it be possible to add the Life Stories LTWs in the same way you did the Uni Career LTWs? I wasn't sure if they were included in this mod, as you had made edits of them and included them in your LTW Chooser but didn't mention them here.

I noticed that you wrote in the description that you edited some hobby want trees by changing how they are rolled by personality. Is this similar to SnorkackSearcher's Fewer Hobby Wants, which has some of these restrictions?

Kind of similar... But not exactly...

If I just want the new wants, and not the hobby edits, which instances do I copy from the MG version? All of the edited instances in the post mention "restrict careers by interests."

Interests and hobbies are different things. Hobbies are Film and Lit, Arts and Crafts, Nature. Copy all but those

Awesome mod, thanks Lamare. I'm using an edited wants tree which fixes the break up want for adult sims, I was wondering if you knew which want tree instance that want is included under? I don't want to accidentally overwrite it while copying over your changes, but I'm not exactly skilled enough to read the coding. At the very least, I didn't find any reference to break ups when checking xml for the "classic" wants for life states tree.

Break up wants and fears contain "BreakUp" in their names, i.e. "alphaBreakUpSpouseBad_4daa983f". If you didn't find any "BreakUp"-s, you're in the clear.

Omg yes LimeyYoshi! Seeing that want roll more often would be amazing and the ability to have adults retire too! I just had an adult Samantha Ottomas roll the want to retire after the birth of her grandchild but there was no option for her to retire upon calling work unfortunately!



Hi GoldenBlood, from what I found online (and from what I subsequently followed in order to merge Lamare's University Career Wants mod here with the Break Up Want Fix) the instances altered in the Break Up Want Fix should be 0x6DB3A03E, 0xADE345CE,0xCDCE5F06.

But just a friendly heads up though, as I was looking to merge Lamare's University Career Wants mod with that fix, I found the Break Up Want Fix I downloaded online was actually an unchanged WantTrees.Package that creator uploaded by accident so you may want to make sure the Break Up Want Fix you have is working and properly altered before spending your time merging the two!

As a side note, I actually couldn't find the working and properly altered Break Up Want Fix online myself so I ended up having to change the required fields (under "Want name is alphaBreakUpSpouseBad" and "Want name is alphaBreakUpSpouseGood") in each of those instances myself by changing "false" to "true" for teens, adults, elders and all aspirations. Also just an FYI I am in no way a modder or overly skilled in SimPE so make backups to your WantTrees.Package before making any changes yourself - all I can say this is what I did and after play testing it worked for me thankfully!

Thanks so much for this mod, I've always wanted something like this. I have the full CD collection, not the ultimate collection, and I'm struggling to find the wants folder. Anyone have any information on how to find the wants folder?

Yes, in a sense that nothing will break, but those are custom careers, and you won't get wants for them.

Are these changes also for part-time jobs? I have an elder who rolled a want to join the Medicine career but she has only 4 points in Health
