How do you curve roofs like that? Im new to this, but ive always made japanese themed homes using old style sim1 methods. Is there some special tool you need to curve roof tops like that?

Edit: I realized that they are floors right? How do you curve floors to make them point up like that?

You curve the floor tiles by using the boolprop floorelevation false cheat. For a good tutorial on how to make pagoda rooves, please visit en7en's Architectural Arts Tutorial found here: http://valot.com/aaa/

But, I don't do it quite the same way. Anyway, there's the link, and good luck.

actually, that yellow looking stuff inside the walls is sand. I just put it in there for some contrast.

Great work I saw this lot somewhere else... Did you upload it in another website too ?

Is it me or I can't see the screenshots ? It's like the site won't load them, I see a X instead.

Hey don't forget to check out my '' Sims of the Rings '' lot series !!!

I don't think I've uploaded it anywhere else...maybe it's only a lot that looks a lot like this one that you saw. And...I don't know what could be wrong with the screenshots...maybe they just didn't load for you...

Thanks everyone for the replies, they are really appreciated.

I will make a community lot, probably over christmas break. I haven't been doing much simming since school started back up. And, as to the chinese houses, sorry, I don't know anything about them. Sorry. :sadpanda:

Haha! I have finished that community lot...and it looks pretty nifty if I do say so myself. It's loosely based on the Buddhist Monastery Butsuden, although anyone who has been to the real thing will be able to easily see the design flaws. Sadly, I'm unable to make those horned rooves with odd shapes. Anyway, for all those interested, I should be posting it soon.

Dice,

Nice work! I've been away from the Sims2 for a while, but I'm glad to see people picking up on my pagoda work.

The roofs look a bit strange... why this band of stone in the middle?

Anyway, this was obviously a lot of work. Congrats!

The bands of stone are there just for kicks. They serve no real purpose except for contrast. Thanks everyone for the feedback. :howdy:

I like the detail work, and scale is impressive. Keep it up! And... it also made me feel guilty that I haven't finished my Dark Shoji series yet... So I'm back at work on it. It will be a whopper of a release! Seeing people like you using my work is an inspiration.

Whoo! Finally done with the coolest pagoda lot ever. It's on three different terrain heights, with connecting bridges from different levels....it's impossible to describe with words. It includes 3 5 level pagodas...with the standard rooves found on en7en's work, instead of the wierd styles I experimented with. It is a lot that really makes me happy. I'll probably have it for upload soon, so please stand by!
