this looks gorgeous! can't wait to try it out...question from a noob lol: what does "townified" mean? I'm assuming "geneticized" means that offspring has a chance of wearing same skin? thank u

"townified" means that there is a chance a townie will end up with skin.

The skin looks awesome, thank you!

Thank you all. ^_^ Yes, as Mrs.Kuma said, townified does mean that there is a chance that a townie can have the skin. And this is a good explanation of geneticized skins.

This skin looks great!! Downloading now! Thank you!

P.S. Where did you get the cool undies for your model? They appear to be the most well made undies I've seen for sims and I'd love to get them for my sims too!

"genitized at 8.76"? I use Wardrobe Wrangler to genitize all my CC skin, but it only ranges from .00 (totally dominant, which is what ALL CC will default to) to .99 (or maybe it's 1.0). Maxis defaults are .1 through .9

So what do you mean by "8.76"?

I ran into a problem.... I did some tests with Insim and the Tombstone of L&D. The twins my random sim man had had the ton, but after aged and bred to a random one, the child was default. After bred to the sibling, the child was default. (default=white maxis skin). Bred the Alien one with telescope, had alien baby. bred that baby to a random person, had regular white baby. White baby bred to sim uncle? White baby. I just downloaded the default alien version, though. Should I have done the geneticized and alien one? It's such a stunning tone, I would LOVE it to work like the normal green alien skin.

Thunderhooves: I wonder if our problems are related. It's not clear to me what she's actually done. NON-geneticed CC skin are automatically given a value of .00 - totally dominant (so if you breed them together, chances of one or the other is random). Sounds to me like the value she has actually given is something LESS dominant than maxis (.1 to .9) maybe .87?. And I'm NOW getting odd results from the ORIGINAL ZOEN skin (which looks the same to me, except a little darker in the face, which makes features hard to see). I had originally genetices it to .05, but now ALL their babies are Maxis .1 to .6 (and of course the tones I had placed in between those).

Stand up, speak out. Just not to me..

I am so sorry it's taken me so long to respond! After reading your comments I realized I had made a stupid mistake when I was geneticizing the skin. I had never geneticized anything before so...I wasn't too sure how to go about doing it. I was attempting to follow Pooklet's method of geneticizing skins (explained in the download from this post), but I tried to use wardrobe wrangler to do it. I guess I should have used SimPE instead. I have since edited the skin to show up with 8.76 for it's genetic value and have created a version at 0.87 as well. I will upload these new files soon. (If it turns out that these are still messed up please let me know. )

I'm sorry but I am a little confused by your post. Are you saying that the children of alien sims never get the skin tone? Or is something else going wrong?

I don't see why the original skin is giving you trouble...sorry to be no help there. (Also I received your PM and have sent you a reply.)

It is possible that there is something wrong with the default skin. I had also never made a default before so I could have made a mistake while making it. If anyone has any ideas as to what could be wrong, or how to fix it, please tell me. Also, if there were any parts of your questions that I didn't quite answer, just point them out and I'll do my best to help.

I think both of us are just seeing the result of extremely recessive genetics; which means that, bred with any OTHER skin, we will never PRODUCE this color.
I have also made discoveries: While Wardrobe Wrangler will only deal with a range of .00 to .99, SimPE allows much higher numbers. As .99 is extreamly recessive, your higher numbers WILL work in the game, but it means the posibility of offspring with the same color is ZERO (unless you breed 2 of the same together, AND they have no "mixed" background. In MY case I want a range of colors: with Zoen being the darkest (and most dominant) at maybe .02, and other similar colors ranging to a blue-tinted human-flesh color at .o7. So a Zoen bred with a Maxis #2 will get anything from #2 flexh to very light flesh, to bluish-flesh to darker & darker. And the DARKER skins will have a higher probability than the human.

It makes no sense to me that my original Zoen (I have a 4-PT default from Widget that included the ZOEN skin) is still copying the very high genetic value, which I can't fix with Wardrobe and don't have SimPE>..

Stand up, speak out. Just not to me..

That is probably the case.

I downloaded your custom version, and genetisized it with Wardrobe to .01 (very dominant, but not as much as the .00 default that it - and EVERY CC skin- would have gotten). Tried it in CAS creating babies with Maxis skin #2 (at .3). Of 20 trials, I got 6 Stargazer. And ODDLY when I tested my older ZOEN I NOW get almost 100%. So looks like it's working correctly.

I use a multi-PT set in which one of the PTs is wearing the original Zoen skin. There wouldn't happen to be a way to replace the original skin with this, would there? (None of my alien spawn have that PT as their alien parent.) Just wondering.

Beautiful work, by the way!
