Man, I watched these videos on YT and I'm amazed. The way you recreated the period genres, your director work, your camera work, your actors (hehe) all so professional. You should deserve some award for this.

I adore this!
It has always been my personal headcanon that TS3 is set in the 50s, they just didn't commit to the theme for the safety of covering baseline modern amenities and leaving it at that. Some traces of this still show up in the home designs in Riverview, despite some TVs and computers that don't quite fit in.
If we assume TS2 was something of a high-tech alternate universe of 2004, TS3 would already canonically be in 1954. I think a charming retrofuturistic spin could have suited the game very well. Riverview is never complete until I kit it out with the mid-mod and diner Store sets, and now it likely wont feel complete without this mod!

This is such a cool idea. I love playing historical saves, so I will definitely be using this. Thank you!

thanks can't wait to download this, I've been wanting to add TV channels myself for my game, and I was wondering if were you able to add sound to the TV shows because I could never figure out how to get my videos in the vp6 converter to convert with sound? thanks for the help.

I was able to, yes I have a tutorial video on how to create TV channels that's coming out on my YouTube channel (The Sims FM) on Monday, hopefully it'll help!

Gorgeous. I agree with Flora2; the work that went into this mod is above and beyond and shows some real talent that could be put to use further here (yes, please, we love mods!) but elsewhere in life, too. Beautiful 'eye'. Thanks so much for the mod. It does work well with the smaller tvs, but I thought that it would work with the larger tvs, just not as well. But it doesn't work at all with the larger tv I initially had- the screen was just black with no sound as it looked like the sim was still trying to watch it. But no matter. I don't care. It'd be nice to have that fixed, if possible, but the mod was so well done and refreshing in its content that it was worth replacing the bigger tv with a smaller one just to use it. I never cared for my sims to watch tv before, but there's something about the black-and-white world that is so peaceful, that I'm now wanting my sims to watch tv when they probably should be doing other things. Thanks again.

Thank you for the kind words!! As for the bigger TVs, I tried it and it all works for me... Have you tried clearing your cache? That could be the issue Either way I'm glad you're enjoying my mod!

The issue fixed itself, because unrelatedly, I'd stopped playing that game shortly after and started a new game the next time I played. This mod has worked fine on the larger tvs since, so I don't know if it was restarting TS3 or starting a whole new game that fixed the issue. I clean my caches every time. Also, I'd previously tried, as per the description, to clone the tv, but the clone in that first game didn't work, either. Just a weird glitch. Again, the mod is fine. Thanks so much!!
