Treadle Sewing Machine with Creativity and $$

This is a new mesh, and means that it's a brand new self contained object that usually does not require a specific Expansion pack (although this is possible depending on the type). It may have Recolours hosted on MTS - check below the description for more information.
This is a featured upload! It showcases the best talent and creativity available on MTS and in the community.
The Treadle Sewing Machine will increase a Sim’s creativity and may be used by children through elders. I made this from the Maxis piano and it borrows the animations from there. You need at least one Expansion Pack (EP) plus the base game for the EP's version. The Base Game version works only in the base game. Do NOT install both!
*EDIT*: I have now uploaded a "No Frills" version for Maxon that does NOT have the $$ payout but does still add creativity points. This is for EP only and has different file names and GUID's so it can live happily along side the other EP version. It costs $500. It is named "cokenasmileTrdleEPnf.rar"

***NOTICE: It has been confirmed that the EP versions do not work if you have university only. There is a University version now available that does not pay out (no frills) but it does also work with NL+OFB. It will not overwrite other files or replace other versions. It is the "cokenasmileUNItrdl.rar" file.***

I changed the animations played to look more like sewing. This will appear under Living Room and Misc and under Hobbies. It costs $550 for EP’s and $450 for the base game. Your sim will gain $1000 for every creativity skill point earned on it.

I changed the pie menu for this item to allow your Sim to “Sew”. The piano music is disabled so you won’t hear that during the animations. I was not able to take out the pie menu option of “Perform/Jazz/Rock/Country”, but if you choose them, they fade away (your Sim would rather sew anyway). So, the sewing machine does not play music, but any piano’s you have will still be just fine and play as normal.

Maxis piano had: 3210 faces and 4220 vertices
Treadle Machine: 3254 faces and 3447 vertices

*squeal* Yay, zomg, coke, it's PERFECT! I knew you were working hard on it, but I had NO idea it was going to be this gorgeous. Your mesh is stunning... I can't believe you did all the detailing on the base! You're insane, and I adore you! Thank you so much for sharing this stunning *coughfeaturedcough* creation with all of us. :D

Wow. Your sewing machine looked exactly like my mom's.

Update: July 2009-I am back now to make invisible and tranparent recolors again in sims 2. You can pm me if you want your objects to be invisible and transparent from now.

Thank you everyone! I did work for over a week straight on the mesh, so it's a little high on polies but I needed it for detail, and it's about the same as the Maxis item I cloned.

Thanks everyone. I hope to change-up the screen shots to better show the detail. I think I compressed them too much, because in game you can make out the "singer" in the wrought iron and on the machine. Plus the silver texture on the business end has more detail in game.

Speaking of detail, I had to cut *a lot* out to save on poly counts. That's why the bench is so basic and the circles aren't perfectly smooth... but hey, close enough for government work.

I HATE sewing. But this machine reminds me of my grand mother. She was forever making dolls clothes for dolls I never played with. What better place to put your so realistic sewing machine in with my elders. Well done, I love it.

Very nicely done once more Cokenasmile though I wish you hadn't added the earning capacity - ah well, you can't please everyone. I might have a go at it with SimPE and try and disable it.

Woah!! That is too nice for words! Coke, this is incredible. The fact that children can use this is perfect for my 1920's sweat shop scenario.
