Thank you, I have been waiting for EA to put this in the sims 4, it was one of the things my sims liked doing in the sims 3. Such a basic thing like feed a fish.

Thank you so much for sharing, Ilex! All your mods rule. This is such a great replacement for KawaiiStacie's "Fish Are Friends" mod, which sadly always causes LEs in my game. If you plan on expanding this mod, I think more interactions with the fish (like talking to the fish) would be cool.

Thank you! I definitely plan to build upon this and adding the "Talk to Fish" option for non-mermaids is a good thing to include. But I also want to figure out how to add relationships like the rodent cages have so I have to learn how to link all that up.

I had trouble with KawaiiStacie's mod when I tried it as well. I blamed the fact that I don't use SOL and figured maybe it was linked to it or something.

That's definitely something I'm planning to work on in the future! I have a few other things I want to make first, but it's on a list.

What are you experiencing exactly? Are the objects not showing up as custom? Or do they have my custom thumbnail but aren't giving you the interactions you expect?

Hi, quick question

Is there a possibility of adding the feeding as optional? Hubs and I both like this idea, but yeah, get focused on other stuff

I still feel bad about a little fur critter starving to death because I forgot to feed it

It's already completely optional! Nothing bad will happen if you forget so no need to worry!

when I open the game this mod isn't shown to me, but others are, so I#m not sure if I downloaded the right one. Which file do I need if I just want to feed the fishes? I play with all extensions

If you have all expansions you can use:

Ilex_ALL_FeedPetsShared1.1.zip - required animations for all my pet mods
Ilex_ALL_FeedFish1.3.1_Merged.zip - just delete the folder that comes in the zip, you can use the fully merged version
Ilex_EL_FeedPetsChild1.2_ADDON.zip - Optional: allows children to feed the fish
Ilex_IL_MermaidChildTalkFish1.0_ADDON.zip - Optional: allows mermaid children to talk to fish like everyone else can

Make sure to delete any old versions just in case and let me know if that works!

Edit: (And this might seem like a silly thing to specify, but it's the sort of thing I'd forget) Make sure to actually put fish in the tanks or there's nothing to feed!

I can do that. From what I understand, marimos don't actually get fed so would you want one with just the ability to talk or do you want to feed it anyway?

Never mind, I'm stupid! I didn't realize the marimo tank is an actual fish bowl! I'll make just a normal version.

My only experience with marimos was my mom having one but it just has a bowl of its own with no fish so that's what I figured the object was.

So if I download the MTS_Ilex_2064511_Ilex_ALL_FeedFish1.4_Merged.zip it still has package files for each of the SPs and EPS as well as one that says "all". Do I need all those or just the one that says "all"? Because since there are separates in the merged zip I'm wondering what the difference is between the merged and separates zips is? Are all those SP and EP files in there by mistake on the merge one?

Yeah, this confusion is part of why I'm gradually re-working how I set up my downloads.

Basically, if you have all the packs you can delete that subfolder. If you don't have all the packs you should delete the main Merged package file and keep only the ones you need from the subfolder.

It made sense to me when I set it up but I've since realized that it's a bad system. Sorry about that and I hope this explanation makes sense until I clean it up.

(The Separate version is because I thought people might want to choose just a single object or something, but that will go away when I re-work it)

You're right, that would be a better name. I think I'm just going to remove those versions though. I think with the type of mods I make it doesn't make much sense to split it out by object
