“We work in the dark, to serve the light. We are Assassins.”
-Ezio Auditore da Firenze, Assassin’s Creed II
-Ezio Auditore da Firenze, Assassin’s Creed II
Introduction:
This mod adds a new custom career to the game: the Assassin Career. The Career takes heavy influence from the Assassin’s Creed series of videogames, and one path of the career is themed around Assassin’s Creed. However there is a second career branch that focusses on being an independent assassin, akin to the Hitman games.
There are two versions of the career: A Medieval version and a Modern-Day version. Both versions of the career are identical, with the only difference being the career outfits being used and some of the skill requirements.
For the more devious members of society, there will always be a way to earn coin via more devious methods. When one is skilled enough with a blade or gun, the hidden world of assassination offers a plethora of opportunities. However, this world is also filled with great danger, both from the authorities as well as rival assassins. Therefore, anyone willing to kill for money must be a skilled killer indeed, and will need to be able to silence their targets without mercy. It's a hard life and the price may be too great, but you will wield the power to end lives with a click of your fingers, and the criminal underworld will serve at your feet. Alternatively, you may wish to join the Assassin's Brotherhood, and do your part to save the world from the forces that would control it. – Job Description
Rabbithole: The Assassin career is situated in the Criminal Warehouse rabbithole.
Work Tones:
- Business as Usual
- Work Hard
- Take it easy
- Hang Out with Co-Workers
- Train in the Assassin Arena (Increases Assassination skill)
- Work in the Poison Laboratory (Increases Science skill)
JOB LEVELS – ASSASSIN:
Level 1: Street Thief
Work Days: Mon, Tue, Fri, Sat, Sun - Work Hours: 10AM-4PM - Wages: §17/hour
The best of assassins have to start somewhere, and the best place to find potential recruits is on the streets. Those that do petty crimes are often the best candidates to pick up a blade, as they naturally pick up skills such as stealth during their time on the streets. You spend your days stealing from both people and buildings, and if you work hard you'll build up enough street credibility to attract the attention of the larger assassin's agencies.
Level 2:Weapon Smuggler
Work Days: Mon, Tue, Fri, Sat, Sun - Work Hours: 10AM-4PM - Wages: §24/hour
You've started smuggling weapons illegally, moving them between various criminal agencies for the right coin. It's quite dangerous, as if you upset or swindle the wrong crime lord you could find yourself at the bottom of the nearest river, your throat slit from ear to ear. Therefore, keep your eyes sharp for any sign of unease in the underworld circles you find yourself moving into, and keep the weapon supply constant for those that request your services.
Level 3: Spy
Work Days: Mon, Tue, Fri, Sat, Sun - Work Hours: 10AM-4PM - Wages: §32/hour
Of all of the deadly weapons in the world, none is more valuable nor more prized than information, and for those that can find a way to obtain it and sell it, there is a tremendous opportunity. Eavesdropping, hacking, stealing and doing whatever else you must do to obtain classified information about politicians and businesses will allow you to then sell that same information to the highest bidder. In fact, many Assassins will pay top price for the right intel that leads them to their next kill.
JOB LEVELS – ASSASSIN’S BROTHERHOOD BRANCH:
These levels branch off from Level 3 of the “Assassin” Career:
Level 4: Assassin Initiate
Work Days: Mon, Tue, Fri, Sat, Sun - Work Hours: 7PM-3AM - Wages: §50/hour
The Assassin Brotherhood, also known as the Assassin Order and originally as the Hidden Ones, is a secret global peacekeeping organization dedicated to protecting humanity from abuses of power, coercive rule, and injustice. As the etymology of the term assassin, their traditional methods have revolved around stealth operations, selective violence, and the assassination of those deemed to be perpetrators of oppression under the belief that this minimizes collateral damage in accordance with their absolute prohibition against harming innocent lives. As the newest recruit to the Brotherhood, you will be trained in the deadly arts of assassination, in order to (paradoxically) make the world a better place. (Note: You can now use the "Train as an Assassin" work tone which will allow you to improve your Assassination Skill)
Level 5: Assassin Scholar
Work Days: Mon, Tue, Fri, Sat, Sun - Work Hours: 7PM-3AM - Wages: §58/hour
The Assassin Brotherhood's political philosophy is enshrined in the Creed, consisting of a maxim and three core tenets which serve as their principal prescriptions. While the maxim presents itself as akin to a doctrine, it is in reality a value-neutral epistemic claim about nature that the Assassins hold to serve as the bedrock to developing an independent, critical, and open-minded value and belief system. Despite this, their culture and goals are driven by an idealistic ideology emphasizing the faith in humanity's potential to foster world peace through collective growth enabled by freedom of education, belief, and expression. You spend your says in the library of the Brotherhood's main headquarters, learning the tenets of the Creed as well as critical thinking skills so that you know when is the right time to strike. Scholars are not just book-worms, however, and must learn the ways of the blade like every other Assassin. In fact, in these ancient tomes you may find even more deadly methods.
Level 6: Assassin Apprentice
Work Days: Mon, Tue, Fri, Sat, Sun - Work Hours: 7PM-3AM - Wages: §63/hour
Although the Assassins can trace their genetic and cultural roots to antiquity, they officially originated with the Medjay of Egypt. The last Medjay Bayek and his wife Aya founded the order- then known as the Hidden Ones - at the tumultuous twilight of Ptolemaic rule to defend the common people against the Order of the Ancients, a clandestine militant group which evolved into the Templar Order. Since then, the Assassins and the Templars have been sworn enemies, fighting a recondite shadow war for more than two millennia across the world, a conflict so intractable and immemorial that it is often thought to have instead spanned the entirety of recorded human history. Fundamental to this conflict is the Assassin conviction that the preservation of free will is a necessary condition for human fulfillment and harmony while the Templars believe that humanity can only find lasting peace through the imposition of a world government under their control.
Level 7: Assassin
Work Days: Mon, Tue, Fri, Sat, Sun - Work Hours: 7AM-1PM - Wages: §96/hour
Your training as an Assassin is now complete, and you have been inducted into the order as the newest fully-fledged Assassin. You now travel the land, destroying the ambitions of those that would abuse their power over others, and you do so according to the tenets of The Assassin's Creed; often referred to as the Creed, It is a code and guiding philosophy of the Assassins upheld from the High Middle Ages until the modern era. It restricts unnecessary slaughter of innocents, preserves the reputation of oneself and of the Order, and is meant to create peace not only within the world, but within the individual. This Creed consists of three tenets: Stay your blade from the flesh of an innocent. Hide in plain sight, be one with the crowd, and Never compromise the Brotherhood. By upholding these beliefs and working together with your fellow Assassin brothers and sisters, you will ensure that the Templars never achieve their nefarious goals.
Level 8: Veteran Assassin
Work Days: Tue, Fri, Sat, Sun - Work Hours: 7AM-1PM - Wages: §122/hour
Amongst the members of the Order you are considered one of the best. Wielding every weapon that an Assassin should be able to, you use your knives, swords, smoke bombs, poison and (of course) the iconic Hidden Blade of the Assassins to remove key Templar targets and corrupt officials in the unending shadow war between the Assassins and Templars. You face ever-more dangerous missions, so train hard and ensure that your vigilance never wavers.
Level 9: Assassin Mentor
Work Days: Tue, Fri, Sat, Sun - Work Hours: 7AM-1PM - Wages: §225/hour
The title of Mentor is an honorific title given to leaders of the Assassin Brotherhood who have obtained an extraordinary amount of skill and wisdom, and subsequently used these skills to tutor aspiring apprentices. As Mentor, you are counted amongst the wisest (and most deadliest) of all members of the Brotherhood, and your knowledge is prized amongst the younger and more reckless Assassin Initiates being trained to lead the next generation. Passing on your experience will offer the Assassins a greater weapon against the Templars than any blade ever could.
Level 10: Master Assassin
Work Days: Tue, Fri, Sat, Sun - Work Hours: 9AM-3PM - Wages: §525/hour
The title of Master Assassin is one of the highest attainable ranks within the Assassin Order, and those who hold this title are presumed to have reached the peak of their training as an Assassin. The rank garners a large amount of respect from other members within the Order and indicates individuals who possess uncommon skill and talent, most often in the arts of stealth and assassination. A Master Assassin is meant to embody the Creed: they have never harmed an innocent, always hid in plain sight, and never compromised the Brotherhood. The Templar Order views you as priority target number one, and will do anything to destroy you. However, the resources and skills of the Brotherhood are under your command, and your influence will help to hold back the insidious tendrils of corruption across the world.
JOB LEVELS – PRIVATE CONTRACT KILLER BRANCH:
These levels branch off from Level 3 of the “Assassin” Career:
Level 4: Arms Dealer
Work Days: Mon, Tue, Fri, Sat, Sun - Work Hours: 9PM-3AM - Wages: §45/hour
You've harnessed the skills you learned as a weapons smuggler and are now actively selling weapons on the black market, as well as directly to clients. Blades, daggers, guns, explosives, whatever can be used to end lives is up for sale, and you make sure that a steady supply of guns and ammunition reaches the hungry market. However, be careful of your tone around your clients. You don't want to upset the wrong person or appear too greedy, so work on your skills of persuasion and the sales will follow. It would also serve you well to learn how to take lives yourself: if you want to survive in the world of killers, you will need to learn how to kill those that would stand in your way. (Note: You can now use the "Train as an Assassin" work tone which will allow you to improve your Assassination Skill)
Level 5: Mercenary
Work Days: Mon, Tue, Fri, Sat, Sun - Work Hours: 11PM-5AM - Wages: §70/hour
A local Agency has asked for your help in providing some "security" services, which means that you'll be picking up a weapon yourself and engaging in some aggressive negotation tactics. Mercenaries are the heavily-armed soldiers called in as third-party muscle to either intimidate, bully or straight up destroy rival businesses and concerns. To be an efficient killer, hone your skills in Assassination and soon you will be unstoppable, because rival Mercenaries are always willing to put a bullet in your skull if it means advancing their own interests.
Level 6: Bioweapon Merchant
Work Days: Mon, Tue, Fri, Sat, Sun - Work Hours: 11PM-5AM - Wages: §85/hour
Now that you've mastered the art of blades and firearms, it's time to move onto selling a more sophisticated method of murder: Poison. Buyers are always greedily asking for the newest and deadliest methods of disposing of their enemies, and you offer a practical candy store of bioweapons, acids, viral agents and other horrible vectors of biological destruction. Making sure that you actually understand the bioweapons you're selling would be useful, as many Bioweapon Merchants find themselves succumbing to their own devices after being overly careless.
Level 7: Contract Killer
Work Days: Mon, Tue, Fri, Sat, Sun - Work Hours: 11PM-5AM - Wages: §109/hour
The International Contracts Agency has offered you a provisional position as one of their newest killers-for-hire, and after accepting you now find yourself presented with a host of contracts being offered by private clients. Corrupt business owners, even more corrupt politicians, wicked clergymen and more are among the clients asking for your talents of ending lives. For your sake, make sure that your methods of assassination are quick and clean, as leaving a messy trail of blood and bodies is a good way to attract the unwanted attention of the police. Oh, and keep an eye open in the back of your head: Your fellow Assassins can't be trusted either.
Level 8: Surgical Killer
Work Days: Mon, Tue, Thur, Fri - Work Hours: 9PM-3AM - Wages: §242/hour
The most requested and powerful of assassins have reputations as surgical killers, and also have the skillsets to back them up. With the number of bodies you've begun to pile up, people are beginning to request your personal services more and more. Therefore, knowledge of how to use every weapon is critical, as if you find yourself staring down the wrong end of a gun, only your quick wits and skills will save you.
Level 9: Hitman
Work Days: Mon, Tue, Thur, Fri - Work Hours: 9PM-3AM - Wages: §340/hour
If it's not by the cold strike of a blade, it will be by the cruel puncture of a sniper rifle. Or the conflagration of an explosive. Or even the acrid taste of poison in food. Either way, your target will not see you coming, and by the time they realise anything is amiss, you are walking away, their blood on your hands and your client's money in your bank account. It's dirty work, but if someone wants another person dead, who are you to refuse their money? By piling the bodies high, you've cemented your reputation as a skilled underworld executioner.
Level 10: Death Dealer
Work Days: Mon, Tue, Thur, Fri - Work Hours: 9PM-3AM - Wages: §520/hour
Whispers in the dark corners of both the criminal underworld and the political realm speak of you. As you are now viewed as something between a ghost and an urban legend, from the lowest drug-dealing slum warehouse, to the luxury of a penthouse suite in the tallest tower, everyone knows that no-one is safe from you. Once your targets are set on a target their fate is sealed and their soul will be reaped. All that matters is that the money is transferred to your account on time. For nothing will stop you when the Contract comes in and you begin your bloody path through the shadows and towards the poor soul whose life is about to end.
This career branches once after level three, where you can go into either the Assassin Brotherhood or Private Contract Killer branch. The career focusses mainly on the Athletics, Logic, Handiness, Science and Charisma skills. Also the career the requires that you have the NRAAS Assassination Skill mod installed in order for it to work. This is because the NRAAS Assassination Skill is used as both a career progression metric as well as for some of the opportunities used in the career.
This career has its own uniforms and an array of different opportunities, some of which depend on which career branch you choose.
