changing colors? cool!! I've only JUST seen some videos of a new theory of the universe and it reminds me of it. at an atomic level (you're made out of fabric, fabric's made out of cells, cells are made out of molecules and molecules are made out of atoms.) it appears that parallel universes DO exist. my point is: if there's a CHANCE no matter how small, that this kitchen turns out green or blue or orange, but it can't figure out what it wants to be, ALL the chances happen.. it kinda reminds me of the quantum world (atomic laws are quantum laws)

Thanks simplydownloadaholic,
I'm a little slow right now to answer questions. I'm preparing links to upload my new Super Collection Stainless steel kitchens, and I haven't slept in days.

And LOL Raika, I'm glad to see that it has inspired someone, and yes there is something phenomenal about them.
To believe in parallel universes is only a reasonable theory if you also believe in infinite universes. I don't know if I believe that or not, but I do believe in physics, and I can say without a doubt, it's possible. I sure can't prove you wrong.

harpy0 - I did a recolour of RGiles' Scarborough kitchen counters, and got a very similar (if not the same) effect.

All I did was make a new color of counter top, and pasted in a new pattern.

It's supposed to be a leafy green. But it looks mostly sandy colored. If you tilt the camera nearly flat with the surface, the counter comes close to the green it should be.

I covered a table in the same pattern, and it came out okay. Please see the picture to see what I'm talking about.
Any advice on how to get the colors to come out right with the Scarborough Kitchen?

Yes, you will need to edit certain material definitions to make them less dramatic. Your problem lies in the glare which is way too strong.

If you are not that familiar with SimPE, you can download my stainless steel cabinets and repeat the method you used for these.

If you are familiar with SimPE. I will send you my tutorial, but you have no contact info. If you wish to fix your cabinets the way you want them then you will need my full reference.

I can only advise that you change the following:
stdMatEnvCubeCoef: 0.25,0.25,0.25
or simply change
stdMatEnvCubeMode: none
Be aware that this will eliminate the extreme reflection altogether. All you will have is the regular reflection value.

Important: If you want your counters to look exactly like your table, you can change the material definitions so they are identical. I've used this method for almost every set I have made. It keeps everything constant.

stdMatEnvCubeCoef contains the main controls for things like the chrome effect. If the number is too low (0.9999+), the lowest, you will have an uncontrollable reflection that will meddle with your ideal colors. Set the number lower until you get the results you want. Your colors will return to normal the lower the number is. Hope that helps.

I am completely in love with this.

You seriously need to make more in different colours.

I adore irridescent things.

whoa-wee-gee! That's quite an sim experiment(sp?) you got there! Very nice!

It had been so good to see his enemy again. Positively heartwarming.

Hallmark really needed to start up a line of revenge cards, the kind that let you reach out to those you were going to come after with a vengeance.
