Versailles - King's Kitchen Garden

Date Posted: 13th Jan 2008 at 3:09 PM

Hello Everyone

So here's the story. I was working on my Hall of Mirrors when I Googled "Versailles kitchen" to get some ideas. Little did I know that there was a King's Kitchen Garden built for Louis XIV at Versailles. Of course I just had to build it and it turned out to be a lot of fun to play though it does take 5 sims working day & night to keep it in tip-top condition.

I was just quick enough to get this entered in the Farm/Rural Challenge where you can find it at Versailles - King's Kitchen Garden.

I'm going to spend some time playing this lot and then it's back to finish off the Hall of Mirrors. Still looking for inspiration regarding the kitchen ............

Thanks :D

Versailles Hall of Mirrors - A work in progress

Date Posted: 2nd Jan 2008 at 8:33 PM

Hello Everyone

I hope that 2008 is going well for you and that you will find it to be a happy, healthy and creative year.

I thought that this holiday would be a good time to tackle the Versailles Hall of Mirrors as part of my Estates of Versailles project. I have always been intimidated by the sheer grandeur of this room so I'm hoping that my simming skills are up for the challenge.

I am building this as a 3x5 residential lot and I'm thinking of including a home restaurant in it but the jury is still out on how I will use the space.

I have meshed & recoloured a new mirror for this project. I intend to mesh a new statue to hold the floor lights and possibly a footstool with authentic material. I also plan to include a full ceiling by recolouring my 9x9 ceiling mesh.

The chandelier is by Andrea at Fairy Forest and the other custom furniture & exterior door & window is by Simnuts at Komosims and Simnuts Creations.

Here is what I have so far.

Comments & suggestions are welcome. Thanks for taking a look. :D

Welcome to Tatiana's Tea Room

Date Posted: 30th Nov 2007 at 3:19 PM

I'm delighted to be opening this location at MTS2. Little did I know when I started up my first page over at the exchange how wide and wonderful the simming community was. While that first location is pretty dusty, I now enjoy contributing and collaborating through a number of wonderful venues, this one at MTS2 being the latest.

So what does a tea room have to do with simming you ask? I always loved the idea of running a place along the lines of The Russian Tea Room in New York. Opened in 1927 by former members of the Russian Imperial Ballet as a gathering place for Russian expatriates, The Russian Tea Room became a second home for artists, writers and actors, not to mention the theatre, movie and book agents. How wonderful to create an atmosphere where people from all over the world could exchange ideas while enjoying the finer things of life.

Though my virtual tea rooms are much less grand (except in my imagination of course, lol) they do allow me to meet people from many different places and we do get to exchange our ideas and share our creations. Now how cool is that!

So welcome to my little spot at MTS2. I hope that you will drop by often for tea & scones and simming news. Talk to you soon.
