Sims 2 vs Sims 3

Up til now, I've been a pretty solid supporter of Sims 2. I've got all the expansion packs (except Happy Holidays; Come on, people, it's not christmas all year round) and I've got a stupidly large amount of Custom Content hoarded away, as I'm sure most of you have.

I've been working on my houses and families for years. I've got Families that go back six generations and career women with 5 different holiday homes. I've put a lot of effort into this game and I don't want to give it up.

This didn't appear to be a problem when Sims 3 came along. At first glance, I thought it was a pretty useless 'new' game. Why not just make another expansion pack? I didn't like the navigation or the restrictions. I thought all the people looked the same; kind of podgy and starey. I was happy to stick with Sims 2.

Then I heard. You can get horses. And bunk beds. The graphics really are beautiful, and the houses look superb.

But it's still pricey and I can't give up on Sims 2 after all the hard work and effort I've put into it. I can't play both, surely?

In conclusion, I find it highly inconvenient that Maxis decided to make a sims 3 and I wish they would stop.

Rant over.

"Podgy and starey"... LOL! That's about it, isn't it? One of the main reasons that I haven't bothered with Sims 3 is that I just can't stand the look of those Sims. I'm not a huge fan of horses (can you ride them in TS3? That would be kind of cool...) and I had some custom bunk beds for TS2 that worked pretty well, so I don't think those features would entice me to buy the game. It's been years since TS3 came out, and I'm still in no rush to get it...
