Ooh, the chess glitch has been fixed. Thank you very much! I'll give these a test in my game immediately.

Does this follow the Highlander rule? Will I be able to use other global mods?

Thank you very much. The limitations they put on children have always annoyed me.

Thank you so much for this mod. It always irked me that kids could get the 'challenge ranked chess' wish but could never fulfill it.

^ Agreed with above. Why EAxis gave our sims kids that want without the means to fulfil it makes me think it was either bad programming... or a tongue-in-cheek act. I know still being early days the game's bound to have a few bugs/flaws etc, but am glad people are once again finding ways around such irks to make the game what we all ultimately want - playable and fun. Thanks again, for a first mod it's genius =)

Thank you!! But I too am worrying about the compatibility.
One of my nature lover sim have had gardening wants since her childhood. That's so stupid. I hope it'll be fixed one day.

Most of the interactions kids can't do in the game don't make sense to me.

the same reason they gave them virtuoso at birth but then no instrument to play at the child stage, but yet can carry the guitar around.
One of my kids, since she couldn't do any musical things (witch is what I had planned for her) was getting nothing but chess wants, I thought she wasn't able to do it because the 'next ranked person" was her mother and in the family, so i couldn't 'invite her over', glad to see that one is fixed now.
I too would like to see the gardening one added, after all IRL I haven't done any real gardening since I was a child.

it didn't used to be that way, game companies used to put out games when they were done, and fully tested, the down side of the internet, all games now have patches =/ because companies want to start getting return on their investment before it's done and use us as free labor to test it for them. {am I too cynical? }

oh well, TYTYTYTYTY for this fix of their broken game

Great, thanks! My kid loves chess; she'll be happy to be able to call people over to play with her.

I've made some mods for The Sims 1 -- yes, The Sims ONE :-) -- which you can find at http://corylea.com/Sims1ModsByCorylea.html

The parents in my farming family are running low on time during the day and I can't get them out to gather seeds like I need them to. I was hoping that when their oldest became a child, he could help by gathering seeds after school. Nope. They're even more useless in this game than the last.

Thanks for doing something about it. Do you think it might be possible to enable child to toddler interactions, or have those been foresaken all together?

Thanks so much for this mod! And, yes, I would be very interested in an update that allows children to play guitar!

I'm also interested in compatibility Is it a core mod?

Since it's your first, I'm gonna assume that it isn't, and try it

Edit: since it's in five separate package files, it can't be a core mod, for those who were wondering.

Thank you for this--the long list of interactions forbidden to children in this game (some sensible, many not) was really getting on my nerves.

For the record, I kind of would like to see children able to develop the Guitar and Athletics skills, if only because one of the child Sims I have in the game is Athletic. (Not that I mind Gardening being your current project; I've had an idea to play a farmhouse--crops and all--and it'd be nice for the youngsters to be able to help out before they hit their teens.)

I would absolutely love to have my kid play the guitar. One of my artistic children keeps wishing to play it, but is unable to do so.

Thank you very much for sharing this! I updated the new version.

Would it be possible to implement child being able to hold babies and toddlers and maybe even take care of them? I think it would be really cute to watch my Sim-son hold his baby sister and feed her. Just a thought.

User may consider to replace~
JTP_childGardening.package
with
ChildGarden.package
or
ChildGardenPlusMotives.package
, which are in Children can Garden Mod~
http://modthesims.info/download.php?t=352209
because the latter one does more than the former one.

However, user does not need to replace~
JTP_childTraitInteractions.package
with
Chaavik-ChildrenCanPostTrollCheckForResponses-Sims3.package
or
Chaavik-ChildrenCanPostTrollCheckForResponsesMoreFun-Sims3.package
, which are in Children Can Make Posts On Forums - Sims 3~
http://modthesims.info/download.php?t=366946
because the latter one does less than the former one.

Also, user does not need to replace~
JTP_childGuitar.package
with
playguitar.package
, which is in Every body can Play Guitar!~
http://modthesims.info/download.php?t=353358
because the latter one does less than the former one.
