I really want to use the adult babysitter but do i need all the expansions to use it i only have ambitions can i use it without it

I see no reason why it won't work. Give it a go. Worst case scenario, your town won't generate any NPC's or it will generate a Teen Babysitter.

If it doesn't generate any NPC's just remove the Adult Babysitter Mod, and all will go back to normal (I actually did this myself by accident while testing, I broke my own rule and put the "Adult Babysitter" and "Elder Maid" in my mods folder at the same time, when I loaded there were no NPC's so I saved and quit, and then removed Elder Maid, and all went back to normal.
If it only generates Teen Babysitters then your game doesn't like the WA code that is in there. (Although I see no reason why it shouldn't... in theory it should only look at the WA code when generating NPC's on vacation)

Either way, if for some reason the Mod doesn't work for you, or you want different variations (like Teen Maid and Adult Babysitter for instance) then upload your Gameplaydata.package file (in a zip or rar) from C:\Program Files\Electronic Arts\<Latest expansion or stuff pack you have>\Game\Bin\Gameplay and I will make one specifically for you

If this is the case

I had to put "all expansions" because thats what I tested it on. (MTS rules) but I see no reason it shouldn't work on any other bits.

I have never got "Any Game Launcher" to work properly for me, so unfortunately I couldn't test it on earlier versions.

The Mod was actually compiled using the Ambitions code so I see no problems for what you want.

I will give it a try. I have the same set-up as you so it should work no problems. Too bad it is adult babysitter and not young adult babysitter. I know its not that big of a deal except for young adults don't have any age lines and are prettier and rich people's nannies tend to be younger adults. So maybe you can make young adult babysitter? Thankies for this

Im not entirely sure, but I THINK "Adult" NPC's start as YA's anyway. My Sim married a Repair Technician, and she was only 2 days into Young Adulthood.

Is there actually a difference physically between Young Adults and Adults? I have to say in game they look identical to me.... although I do very rarely take them back to CAS so I suppose it might be more noticeable there.

I don't know if your familiar with XML modding, but basically, the values have been tuned for different ages, based on numbers that were already there. (For instance, I just made all the "Teen" entries match up to the babysitters number.)

Unfortunately, I have no method of reference for the correct "Young Adults" number that I know of. However, there is an entry under "Magician" which doesn't match the other "adults" numbers. so that might be the Young Adult number, I will take a look at it and let you know If not I will try putting in random numbers and see what happens, it seem's like the numbers are loosely based on what age they are "meant" to be when they age up, so I will try from 18-25 and see what happens

Edit: Just tried the "Magician" Value, epic fail. Will do some fiddling tomorrow, could take a while though, There are 40 possible combinations....

I'd love to have just a teen maid, but everything else the same. Would that be possible? Then I could use the teen maid and the adult babysitter correct? Until then I guess I'll use the All Teen version.

There is an option in the "All Teen" Package for just a Teen Maid, but that will make your Babysitter default to Teen.

If im reading your post correctly, you were asking if I could make one that would ONLY change the maid and make the others read from the default right? Unfortunately this can't be done AFAIK. The game reads the XML as a whole, so if your using my mod, its checking the ages against the Mod and not against the game files.

Basically, every time one of you wants a different combination, I have to remod it (or you can do it yourself if you know how to XML mod)

As I said, I am taking requests though. Give me 2 minutes, I'll make one for Adult Babysitter and Teen Maid for you.

Ok I have the YA stuff figured out thanks to Jonha Will be putting out an exclusively YA and an exclusively Adult release tomorrow. (Currently, the tuning means that both Young Adults and Adults can be generated)

Young Adult release is up. I think I'll leave Adults as they are for now, where it can be YA's or Adults unless somebody makes a request.

All my Mod's are currently compatible with the new FLS patch. I have spent the last week reviewing various things, and self testing them and it all seems to be working as it should.


I use many of my own Mods, and all seem to be working fine with no bugs. As ever, they have been tested running Baxim's EGC with Inteen3 as my Game Core so definitely EGC compatible, definitely Un-Core Modded compatible, and probably Awesome compatible but I haven't checked.

Hi, is it possible to limit the gender of NPC's ? All male or all female, or maybe just female babysitters and only male repairmen etc., and although there is now a mod to give them reasonable names, they still have that scary EA appearance If the game will ultimately cap the number of NPC's then perhaps we just need to turn our own sims into NPC's and keep deleting the EA ones until the NPC pool is full ? Just a thought-thanks

It might be possible, I dont have alot of time at the moment, but I am fairly certain there is male/female options in the XML I will take a look at it when I get time (probably Wednesday) and post back my findings.

On the subject of one gender NPC's:

Seems I was getting a little confused, the Male/Female options I remember seeing were in fact to do with uniforms. I don't know what will happen if I just delete the uniform line I don't want (for instance, if I delete "maid male uniform" and leave female uniforms on there) but it will probably be one of 3 things:

1: The game will just ignore my code and use the default, deciding that the XML must be corrupt
2: No NPC's will be generated (this seems to be the most usual outcome for dodgy NPC code)
3: Everything will work as intended

Obviusly im hoping for number 3, but I'll do some playtesting tonight, and we'll see what happens.

I am a little confused by you saying i can only use ONE of the mods... so i can not for example use Teen Pizza Delivery and Young Adult Bartender at the same time? Or do you mean i can only use one for each service NPC type?

Precisely this. Each package contains tunings for EVERY NPC whether they have been modded or not.

For example, if you were to place the Teen Pizza Deliverer package in, it would tell the game that the bartender is valid for Adult or Young Adult (game default) if however you put both Teen Pizza and Young Adult Bartender in, the game won't know which file to load, and will end up loading neither. Hence, no NPC's (at least thats how it worked in my game)

If you want a specific combination, let me know, and I will knock it together for you.

Hi Severedsolo,

I have recently downloaded and installed this mod. I used the all teen package for latenight. No issue there. It all went as instructed, until the burglar came to my house. Police came and both of them never went away , while my alarm is doing overtime.... Is this a known issue?, its bugging me (can't have my sims go to the spa just to get a rest every day or move house when it happens). I have to mention that I'm using curfew mods (both for the curfew police and teen curfew behavior changes)...

Thanks for the bug report. I wasn't aware this was an issue.

Just ran a quick test on my own game, seem's the problem is specifically linked to having both a Teen Burglar and a Teen Police Officer. Unfortunately, I have no idea why. Normally the game just treats teen's as "little adults" and they can do pretty much whatever they want.

I suppose it could be linked to the curfew police mod, as the "time til leaving" stuff is in there, but it's unlikely, as I use a similar mod that I have made myself, and I know the only thing that's changed is the curfew check time.

In any result, it seem's the issue goes away if at least one of them is an adult, so I will upload a new version with at least one of them as an adult. Although this does present a new issue, the police won't catch the burglar, the burglar will run off as the police arrive and then you will get the "looks like they got away" message. So make sure you buy an alarm!

Can you please confirm that the teen burglar enters the house? On my test game, they were waiting outside, and didn't cross the threshold.

To fix your issue with the burglar/policeman not going away, try this: press CTRL-SHIFT-C type resetsim (burglar name) then do the same again with (police officer's name)

then type CTRL-SHIFT-C and type testingcheatsenabled true and shift-click the alarm, select object... then delete.

New version is up, it's labelled 1.17 just like the old one. There are 2 packages labelled "All Teen NPC Adult Burgler" and "All Teen NPC Adult Police Officer" it's up to you which one you want to use. Personally I'd go for the Burglar one as I know that one works (apart from the "looks like they got away" message)

Unfortunately, the changes won't take effect immediately in an already running town, as the game will have already generated the Teen NPC's. Maybe if you can identify the offending Sim's and use Master Controller to nuke them, otherwise you will have to either

1) wait until they are dropped from the pool due to aging, and then the game should generate the correct age group.
2) Start a new game.

The problem with method 1 is that until they are dropped (should be about 2 Sim weeks at most) if you get another burglar, then the issue will repeat itself.

Hi Again,

Had another burglar yesterday. I'm now using the modified mod (adult burglar as you sugested) and indeed it all went fine. Message was as you said good thing one of my sims is Brave and kicked the burglar out of the house :D

Anyway, thanks again for the fast response and action.
