You chose a nice house to make! I do have some tips to make it even better though.
The roof. The house you replicated has three main roof elements: the "body" of the house, and two front facing gables. The roof you ended up making does look a bit messy, having multiple peaks and different heights on each gable. Simple fix: All the roof elements on the drawing seems to be the same pitch, so just keep all the roofs the same pitch. The gable over the entrance should be "on top" of the gable behind, with the same pitch. Simple is usually better.
Also, if you want to be more true to the drawing, the house should be a bit slimmer and the roof should be steeper.
Other than that, the floor plan seems to make sense, and the house does look good!

Thanks for the advice! Landscaping and roofing are my two main issues with house making. Haven't done it for a few years so getting back into the swing of things!
(p.s. the house pictured turned into more an inspiration than anything else as by the end the final result was notably different haha)

In the past, I too have tried building houses in the game from floor plans, and while it worked most of the time, there is always stuff that's impossible to replicate in the game. I prefer to build from memory, and while doing so I take something realistic and make it unique. That's what I see here and I think you did a great job!!

You mentioned roofing and landscaping as being issues for you. Not sure if you know this roofing trick but I'll try to explain it:
-> After you get all your roofs placed where you want them, you can use the hammer tool to "delete" all but one, then fiddle with the height until you get it where you like, then click "undo" to replace the other roof sections. You can repeat this process indefinitely with all the different sections. I nearly pulled my hair out until I learned this trick.

I find it helps immensely with roofs that overlap each other. Don't be afraid to place one, then place another directly over it but extending further, the game does allow it. If you already knew about all this, just ignore me O_o

I too despise landscaping, so I usually just try to get as close to a picture as I can, or I surf around the 'net looking for ideas that'll fit the theme of my build. Otherwise I just go nuts and throw in whatever looks nice, anything always looks better than nothing.
