I cannot thank you enough for this. I was diagnosed with fibromyalgia and chronic fatigue syndrome before I was even 25. I had 2 children, both toddlers at the time and had just bought a house a year prior. Since, I've lost my job, my long term boyfriend, most of my whole life and almost all of myself. Now my kids are in 2nd & 3rd grade and I still can't work, I struggle, I'm sick but I work my ass off to make life as normal as possible for my kids. I have almost zero social life, I'm pretty much a hermit and nobody understands. I've heard it all from the "You just need to work out, eat gluten free, go vegan, take these herbs, you don't look sick, it can't be that bad, it's all in your head, must be nice to be able to lay around all day...." Blah blah blah, it's absolute garbage. With all the other horrible things in the world that people are afflicted with, most people don't care about chronic/invisible illnesses. Either that or they don't know they exist or don't believe them to be real. I've played the sims since day one 16 years ago but now it's become a MAJOR part of my life. It kinda helps to at least live vicariously. And when I see this, it makes it more real for me. Plus it creates awareness & brings people together. Thank you SO much. It means a lot.

I'm so, so glad you shared this with me! I developed POTS literally overnight and for two years I dealt with numerous medical tests that showed nothing and doctors who treated me like I was faking it until I finally got a diagnosis. I'm very fortunate in that my family has been incredibly supportive since day one but I've pretty much lost all my friends and my entire social life. It's so frustrating when people don't understand, when someone that knows nothing about your illness or what you have to go through on a daily basis says "oh, you just need to do this..." and you have to explain to them that that's not how it works, you're already doing all that you can.

I'm bedridden 99% of the time so video games have become a big part of my life also, that's why I started making CC. It gives me a productive, creative outlet without requiring much physical activity. And I get to share what I make with this wonderful community and connect with people like you.

Thanks so much for sharing your story with me, It's great to hear from other spoonies and know that I'm not alone

I too have FMS/CFS unfortunately I also have a string of other things. I was also diagnosed very young. It has just gotten worse over the years. I do so totally understand, this auto-immune disease affects everyone differently and yet the same. I still work, it has been very hard at times. I have had to take hiatus at times. The sims let's me escape reality. Now onto the CC love it Thanks!!!!

How neat, I at first didnt believe my eyes! I have HOTS which is Hyperadrenergic Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome (and I have Lupus too). On my down days, I take the laptop to my bed and build in Sims all day and shut the world out Its a good way to zone out. Great to see us have some goodies in here.

I was diagnosed with fibromyalgia when I was 16 myself. Still single and no kids yet, but considering adoption when I do. I wake up in the morning unsure if I'm going to walk or not or need a wheelchair or crutches to get around. So it is neat knowing that other Simmers suffer from chronic illnesses and disabilities too. Other health issues I have are chronic muscular back pain, neuropathy, and torn ligaments in both ankles. I did complete five years of college with the Sims 2 as my inspiration, but haven't been able to hold a job since and work temp jobs. It is real and sorry you get the medical advice spam too. I've noticed most people don't care or afraid to talk about health problems too. I started the Sims 14 years ago myself. When I saw this CC, I had a big grin on my face. It is truly inspiring to see and rare to see CC made for spoonies which is a term I just learned about now.

I won't go into all my health problems - but you are so right! If people can't SEE them, they must not be REAL! I'm still trying to hold down a job, although I've gone to part-time, and keep having to take time off for weeks at a time. I'm currently on another of my down times. I also had never heard of the phrase "spoonies" - so thank you for the education! I'm thankful to be able to add this artwork to my sim's home as a reminder that we spoonies all need to take care of ourselves and each other! Thank you!!

Thank you so much for these! I have chronic illnesses, both mental and physical, and the whole "Don't judge a disability by its visibility" picture is PERFECT. Do you have any photo files I can save for these? I wouldn't reshare them, just use them as my phone background. :D

I was diagnosed with Fibromyalgia on March 2nd (my birthday) of this year despite having the symptoms since 16 years old (I'm now 25). I couldn't agree with tropicanna14 more about The Sims. I've been playing since day one as well and this set is absolutely fantastic. <3 It makes me feel included.

Your description of what the spoon theory means and what a spoonie is, is the best I've ever read. As a person with an invisible, chronic illness, I truly appreciate this painting set and your effort to bring awareness to spoonies who play Sims 4. Thank you.

*gentle hug* I feel your pain, literally. I too suffer with fibromyalgia. The best thing I did after being diagnosed with it in 2011, was get on twitter and talk to real people who truly understood what I was going through. In real time. I highly recommend it. Just search #spoonie #fibro and #invisibleillness, you'll find someone talking about what we go through all hours of the day. Stay strong Fibro Warrioress!

It's fantastic to "meet" someone, who understands chronic illness, who makes Sims 4 stuff! I'm sorry to hear about your health issues of course, but it's always great to meet other spoonies. I've had severe costochondritis (inflammation and swelling of the cartlidge that connects your ribs to your sternum) for 6 years now. Usually it resolves on its own, but not for me! That with fibro and arthritis and you can pretty much guarantee I know when the weather is changing lol. No pity party here, I chose to get up and get on with my life early on. No point laying around and moping about my situation. I just keep my chin UP and a smile ON as much as possible. And I kick the negative emotional vampires to the curb. Never let anyone drag you down, we suffer enough as it is all on our own. Blessed be. Namaste.
