Unless your sim is trying to lull them into a false sense of complacency, then yes, it should. MOST of the time, as I said, since Maxis coding will always lurk in the background waiting to spring into action and make sims do stupid things (until we have so many mods it's all been overwritten).

Thank you. Got tired of telling my Sims to flirt and bang each other only to have them do that hip hop hand greeting as if they were in gang. What a turn off

I have to say i've been using it a few days now and i actually feel this mod has improved conversations overall, i'm noticing more fluid conversations in groups and more realistic behaviour when out and about in the sim world..it might not be your mod who knows but something has made an improvement

I wouldn't be surprised if it is. Strange thing about mods like this one; I didn't do anything but stop the GAME from doing something.

Would it be possible to add to this a "Greetings..." category to the social menu so that we can actually ask them to perform the greetings animations when we want them to (and have them shake hands at will, for example) ? That would be a great addition.

Yeah, that's the way these greetings should have been in the game to begin with, but if it is possible to add it in that way, it's out of my skill set (a lot different writing new coding, and possibly scripting, as opposed to simply deleting lines of it). They aren't something that are even a real social interaction; there is no relationship gain from them, and as such, there'd be a lot of mucking about to get them added to the wheel and make them player commandable, especially with its own category. It's just meant to add color to the game, showing what sort of relationship the two sims have.

I have a small problem with the mod. While the kisses and hugs have stopped the sharing of videos with teens have not. In fact sometimes they will not only do it one time but several times in a row. I have your two mods like you suggested. Could the problem stem from there?

I've personally found that the teen ones seem to be separate, and if I take my OTHER mod out (the timeout one) they start again. They aren't conversation starters...two teens will watch a video, and the conversation ends (which is what the timeout one eventually cools down), while this mod stops the pre-greetings when two sims are actually going to do something that starts them chatting. I guess my question is, if you have my other mod in, are the video sharings the same two sims in a row, or does another teen get involved? Because they each seem to have their own timer, and each need to get it out of their system at least once before they consider knocking it off for a while.

It happened during a date. The two teen lovers went to a restaurant and a teen that was there jumped on them and show the girl a video two times in a row. Then the tow teens in the date shared a video 4 times in a row.

That's pretty crazy, and I have no idea what would cause it, other than the timeout mod (not the one on this page) simply not working for some reason. Neither mod should make them happen more often (one just lengthens the already in place timer between the empty interactions like the video one you were seeing, and the other gets rid of a totally different greeting before chatting one). I do know that when I was messing around with my game the other day and playing without mods that those teen videos can happen way too often, which reminded me why I made the timeout mod to begin with. All I can say is that even with the mods you might see some of these annoying (because they happen so often) empty greetings from time to time no matter what, but they should at least tone them down quite a bit, so maybe there's a mod conflict causing something to not work.

does this stop the kiss cheek interaction? Is there a way to make that choseeable for us instead of only autonomous? I like the animation, but I don't like that they do it to whoever.

Check above about 8-9 posts. But one or both of my mods should nix most iterations of it.

The sharing a video autonomy does get pretty crazy. Your best bet is to use MCCC or SCAM to disable that autonomous interaction from occurring. Your life will be good for a while until you notice them obsessing over some other annoying interaction :/

Surprised this isn't featured honestly. The greetings are the worst things ever, they could have been done well, but of course they are not. I mean when my sims go down to eat breakfast with the family and get up to kiss/hug and don't go and eat again i want to tear my eyes out

How did I miss this mod? This is what I wanted since the get together pre patch.

But can I kinda request similiar mod for toddlers when they're eating home food (non toddler foods in high chair, but sitting randomly somewhere else) so they won't try to walk up to other sim and talk with them? (same goes to playing on their tablet). It's annoying especially when they eat, because usually that makes them to stop eating and putting plate with food somewhere.
