@Lamare I guess @julee92 meant magazine, game, etc. rack dialog which is very similar to the design tool dialog.

Thank you so much, not only for this mod but also for taking the time to compile a list of similar mods! I didn't know about half of them and I'll install them all. I really appreciate it.

I just took a look at it in game and I love it--a small change but it's a big improvement. Thanks so much for sharing!

This is a literal dream come true! So much carpal tunnel from scrolling and scrolling through objects with eighty bajillion recolors - cutting it in half is amazing!! Thank you!

To be a bit greedy, is it possible to make the pictures larger in design mode? My guess is it's impossible, but figured I'd throw it out there.

In any case, thank you again for all the amazing mods. Shiftable everything has opened up a whole new world of clutter in my game and this is going to be a game-changing convenience!

I think almost anything is possible, this is more of a question of how much time and effort one is ready to put into it.
Thumbnails: I haven't found where they are. In design window, they're a part of a generated list, but where that list gets its items -- that I don't know.
Magazine/game rack: would be nice, but we don't have 50 different magazines to click through, so I think I'll let it be.

Thank you all for your comments :lovestruc

When I first introduced this mod idea for the recolor window size i never realized so many other simmers would think it was a worthwhile one to create, but I wanted it desperately as recoloring modular stairs with 30 different recolors on a recolor that was 12 Pages deep clicking each time for a staircase that was 15 stairs long and then repeating the process for other place stairs was an absolutely nightmarish and time-consuming process that completely wore out my poor fingers so I just want to say Lamare THANK YOU FOR MAKING MY REQUEST A REALITY!!! Now i can recolor modular stairs twice as fast!

Is there any possibility to make original maxis ui buttons not so far apart? I tried it in my game but I don't like the buttons it looks weird. Don't get me wrong good job but the devil is in the details. The two others ui look like they should.

l3lake, I've never saw your request, but I'm glad you find it useful. I bet a lot of people have thought about something like this at some point since the era of wide screens

VMarcinV, I'm not a graphic designer, sorry. Original image has curves and gradients, so the easiest way to widen it was to cut it in the middle where the lines are straight. If someone wants to give it a go and improve it, I'd me more than happy.

Thank you so much! Taking forever to scroll through my millions of recolors has been super annoying since I first started playing. This'll be a huge time saver!

once again an extremely useful mod that works well! thank you, Lamare!
if I may suggest, like others did, it would be great to have a wider Plastic Surgery window as well, to go with Chris Hatch's wider Change Appearance window.

Yes, thank you so much for making this!!!

Also I have a question regarding UI mods actually. I'm currently working on testing a project to massively expand the game's tutorial scenarios. My 7 year old niece has gotten into TS2, and she has severe ADHD and dyslexia. I was curious as to whether or not it was possible to modify the tutorial guide window size and position? preferrably it would be most impactful being a much larger window at the top center of the screen. If you could point me in the right direction on accomplishing a mod such as this, I would not mind doing it myself! ?

@l3lake use UI cheat in game to find out the ID of the tutorial window (either Ctrl-U or Ctrl-O, I forgot which one). Then use this method to search through UI files (they are found in ui.package in game files) and find the code related to your window. Area coordinates correspond to position and size of UI element(s). If you want to enlarge the window, you'd have to edit the png image as well. Use image/photo editor for that. IDs of the images will most likely be referenced in the same UI file (instance and group), otherwise it may be trickier to find them.

Hello, first I want to thank you very much for this mod. It's really amazing that this was possible to change. But it seems that I have some sort of a problem with the appearance. I think it has to do with a conflicting mod or hack cause I didn't have this problem at the beginning of using this. I'll try to find it out next week because I'll be at vacation for the next 5 days. The broken appearance is just like the original sized window of the Design Tool on the one side and the other (longer) "side" to the right is just a black box(?). Maybe you (or some of the downloader ) already heard about this problem...so other people downloading and having this problem don't have to think that they are alone with this.

Friendly greets from germany for you and a nice evening

Edit 16.11.2022: Hi everyone,

I just found out, that this mod conflicts with the "The Sims 2 HD UI" (named UiUltimate1.1.package) from skarnius1. I hope this informations will help everybody with the same problem.

Have a nice day :D
