Thanks... :howdy:
I suppose that the way I've been playing it, either you go and cook dinner for everyone, or influence the NPC who shows up at the register. The chars seem to like it and end up dancing and its great for popularity sims. I need to try it in University, since I used those stoves, to see if more NPC's show up!
Sims use the booths when they drink coffee.. otherwise they only seem to eat at the counter. Don't know how to fix that. I was going more for the look of the booths than the use-ability.

Glad you like it!

Thanks! It's very cool.

I can't wait for Night life ep to hopefuly add the waiter/waitress functionality to the town and/or community lots. Not having it is very limiting

Peace

yeah sims only eat on dining chairs or stools not lounges or lounge chairs if you changed the booth chairs to dining chairs they will eat there but then you lose the 'diner' look i guess

EDIT: but now NL is out they can eat in booths yay!

I can't say that I have played it enough in Uni to know what modifications are needed, I think that you need to get rid of the doors to the kitchen so that when the 2 NPC cooks show up that they have the counter out front to put the plates... I suppose it needs some tweaking... Oh, yeah btw- sorry I forgot to put lights in the bathrooms, it took me a few times before I noticed it. However being that the lights don't always work in the bathrooms at the real Jennie's, I suppose I was making it more realistic

I'm glad everyone seems to like it. This was my first upload here, and I didn't even know about the ratings until someone said something a few posts up.
But thanks everyone! It has definately made me smile to pop on here and see so much positive feedback
Thanks! :bump:

about making it realistic...
i really appreciate it...

just a little point : i sent 5 students in it, they had lot of fun !
but when the taxi came to go back home, they tried to pass the front door all together... and it's worse because of the position on the stereo and few people who dance infront

i guess it's because of my sily students who don't think about the rear door :fight:

I live in Lancaster and I know this Diner. Can you imagine my amazement when I saw this upload? I was not expecting to see a building modeled after something local!

Default Greetings from Next door!
It is just as amazing to me that someone else from Lancaster saw it and recognized it! I thought that the only people from around here that knew anything about the sims, were my friends that I have slowly corrupted by bringing the Sims into their homes. I talk about stuff to people and get many blank looks
I am also working on the Fulton, but I actually need to take some more pictures of it, since its not working square for square.

Glad you like it!

We could learn a lot from crayons:
some are sharp, some are pretty, some are dull,
some have weird names, and all are different colors....but they all exist very nicely in the same box.

Default Adding stuff for non UNI peeps
I added the wall for downloading separately. If anyone wants the matching counter, I can put that here too... The originial counter (in the diner) was a non UNI counter, but I am not really sure if because I have UNI if that means you can't use it. I'm really not sure how that works.
Can I make something (having UNI) that someone without UNI can use?
I don't know...

Thanks!

Default Awesome... and question.
First of all, I want to say that personally I think this is the best version of a diner. Its great.

Secondly, I have a question. Maybe it's something I did, but when I go in for a date and dinner, I can't seem to get dinner. I tried the cash register, I can't influence anyone to cook. What do I do? Am I missing something? Help! I love this diner. Im sure its just me. Tell me what I'm doing wrong.

Hmmm.. Ok. If you don't have the EP (which would be the ability to influence the NPC at the register aspect) - then the only real thing you can do is make and serve dinner yourself.
Sorry
I didn't really think about what to do if you didn't have the ability to influence people to do it for you.

Did that answer you?

I did the design for another person, and I fear that I just didn't put enough thought into use-ability... I was really just making something small and diner-like for other people to modify... I so apologize. I put my diner in my game in University and only use it occasionally. If there is anyone with any suggestions on how to make this user-friendly for non-ep players, please post.
Thanks!
Didi

Gimme a week or so to see if I can come up with a better idea.
