They're designed to be shops, possibly with a flat above, but could also be used as houses. You might like some of my older 1xn houses here on MTS, too - but my style tends to be old-fashioned, rather than modern, so might not be what you're after.

I don't know of any offhand but try searching the term "terrace" or "terraced" as well - that's the British English term

I make a lot of these using the LotAdjuster. It's easy to make a template, and then adjust everything in the middle to add variety. I find fitting one 8-tile-wide house on a 1-wide, or three 6-tile-wide apartments on a 2-wide to be the best fit to recreate UK style housing. You might want more space for your sims than these narrow builds, though.

NB, I did come across some templates just now but beware that any with a hipped roof will break when you try to delete the excess walls, and any which don't come with a flat roof will need LotAdjuster to add the floor tiles at the edge of the lot. I thought there were some other templates where you can add other aspects but I can't find these.
