Default FIX THIS HOTEL Challenge
Out of all the challenges you could've picked, you obviously picked this one, because it's the best! No I'm just kidding. But this is my first challenge I made. if there is already a challenge exactly like this please tell me!

Story: "This hotel is making no money, no business! Please resolve the issue." says your boss
Target/Goal: You must try to make a luxury hotel worth at least 700,000 simoleons. By making your residents make money off the skills they learn.

To Begin:
-Start by making a young adult sim female/male
- They can have the traits and aspiration of your choice
- They can look any way, but I recommend a business casual type look
-Move on to a lot: 30x20 or 50x50
-No Money Cheats!!
- Lot layout:

- Manager Head Quarters

- Personal Assistant's Quarters

- one room for the first resident

-Must have a bed, toilet and shower, coffee maker, table and chair, and a money- making skill object <<<lol
- Set You money amount to 2500 simoleons. This is the amount you are starting with.

-Get your P.A. by typing in the cheat sims.spawn. That will be your personal assistant.
-HAVE FUN!

Jobs:
Personal Assistant: cooking(breakfast, lunch, and dinner)and cleaning. Has to reach level 8 or higher in the cooking skill and level 5 in the gourmet cooking skill. Makes sure the residents are making the money. THEY CANNOT HELP MAKE THE MONEY!
Manager: Back up in case the P.A is sleeping, makes sure everything is in order, and makes sure the hotel is making money. Must be level 8 in the charisma skill.
Residents: Responsible for making all the money. Must have level 10 in 3 money- making skills in order to leave the hotel and made at least 5550 while at the hotel.

Rules:
*Every time your residents get to level 5 in a money-making skill, they may learn a new skill.
*No one is allowed to leave the lot
*Each resident gets their own room
*You can only control two residents per day. That means 8:30 A.M. to 8:30 A.M. the next day. The rest must try and survive
* If a resident dies you must pay 3650 simoleons.
*You can get one resident every 4 sim days. But that's only if you can afford it. For a new resident you must have a bed, toilet and shower, coffee maker, table and chair, and a money- making skill object ( They have to have their own room)
*You cannot only have 1 or 2 residents. You must have at least 10 residents!
*Life span on medium or long
* The residents are not allowed in the manager or P.A.'s office/headquarters

If there is something you are confused about please tell me so I can resolve your issue.
I will try and post pictures of me playing my own challenge!
Good Luck

Having just gotten back into playing games / returning to this site, I think that starting a sim challenge (something I used to often start, but never finish on sims 3) would be a good idea. This challenge sounds pretty interesting, although I have a couple of questions.

-You mention using the sim spawn cheat to get an assistant, but also mention having a manager; so are we spawning a manager from the beginning as well?
-Being a hotel based theme, is it ok to build community type rooms on the lot also? (Such as a kitchen, 'lobby/living area', public bathroom, possibly even a pool or fitness room?
-After spawning a sim, can that sim be altered in CAS, and if so, to what extent? (Can just clothing / hair be altered, or can the entire sim be altered, including bodyshape, traits, etc.)?

I think that's about all I had questions about right now.

Sims, like life, is very unpredictable. One minute you're eating four day old pizza, and then the repo-man steals your only sofa and you're in tears. ...then the food poison kicks in.

1. You create your manager in CAS when you first enter the game the rest of the sims including the P.A is using the cheat
2. The game starts off with a lousy hotel just pretend you barely have money. You have to work your way up. Of course whenever you can afford it YEA you can get all those things, but in the beginning i wouldn't suggest it because you have to pay bills
3. I believe you can edit the sims in CAS but when you have more than 8 sims and you try to edit them they will all be deleted is what I heard

Question: how do you get sims into the hotel? I have been searching through this and still haven't seen it anywhere. I can see that most people know how but I don't get it, can someone please help me?

the cheat sims.spawn (i believe) allows you to add up to 26 sims! That's a lot good luck lol

I'm doing a sort of relaxed version of this challenge since I have some story things related to it, but yeah. I'm doing it bed and breakfast style. :3

Here's the house and my manager and assistant. Right now they have a unicorn as their first resident lol

The cheat sims.spawn allows up to 26 sims
The cheat sims.spawn lets you get more than 200 sims, so I'd be careful with that :D

I am doing this challenge , It is very fun and challenging. I am also watching your video and have a question. In your explanation you said that the guests can't go into the management area-but that the Personal Assist has to do all the cleaning-how can she clean the rooms if she can't get to them? In my game I have a common area where guest and management watch tv together. and I just have to keep the guest out of the kitchen area which is a pain.Is this wrong? Should I lock my guests up the way you did. What will your guests do for fun?
I guess I had more the one question.

My mistake, to be honest I didn't really think that part through lol !
So this can go two ways:
1. Only the PA may go in the residents area but by any circumstances should the PA socialize with the resident or vice versa.
OR
2. The PA doesn't have the job of cleaning and the residents must clean up for themselves.

BTW:
As seen in my video I brought the residents a microphone that actually brings their fun up. Later in the game I plan to buy them a TV and place it in cafeteria!

Thanks, that clears things up. I think I will keep having the pa do things-she is really good at fixing broken stuff. So I Just have to keep her from hanging out. She tries to nap on the beds because they are better than hers. LOL

Are you going to post more videos? I like watching someone else play the same challenge while I'm doing it. It makes it more fun.
