Hello, I already posted this over on the EA answer HQ but figured it wouldn't hurt to ask here too. I'm looking to buy a new laptop. I play Sims 2 UC, Sims 4 and Civilization V and VI mostly, all of which I play with the latest DLC. I'm from Ireland, and my budget would be around €1000. I've found quite a few online, though I went a little overboard on the specs for one or two (couldn't help myself!), but really I'm looking for a laptop that will run all these games on high settings. Also, just to note that I do play with a good few mods and CC for Sims 2 (around 7500 files, but compressed to under 2 GB) and I would probably have a ton for Sims 4 if I didn't have the following issues.

My current laptop is by no means suitable for them (bar Sims 2 UC, which runs perfectly) but the only game I really have issues with is Sims 4, as it lags so horribly it is almost unplayable. Sims take ages to respond to any action, frequently standing in one place bobbing their heads, and the clock keeps turning back time, especially on high speeds. I'm hoping with the correct specs I won't have these issues (please tell me I won't!) I'm just not sure which is most important for Sims 4, the processor or the graphics card? Or are they fairly equal in importance?

If someone could give me some insight into the best option, I would be very grateful. The last two are custom made so the specs can be changed if needed, or if anybody can find another laptop from some other place I'm open to anything as long as I can play my few games on high graphics options.

I got this from the Sims 4 forums at EA - http://modthesims.info/showthread.php?t=621422 - These are the minimum specs required to play Sims 4. You will have to look at the specs on each laptop to see if they meet Sims 4 requirements.

OS: Windows XP (SP3), Windows Vista (SP2), Windows 7 (SP1), Windows 8, or Windows 8.1 (It does work with Windows 10)
PROCESSOR: 1.8 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo, AMD Athlon 64 Dual-Core 4000+ or equivalent (For computers using built-in graphics chipsets, the game requires 2.0 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo, 2.0 GHz AMD Turion 64 X2 TL-62 or equivalent) MEMORY: At least 2 GB RAM
HARD DRIVE: At least 9 GB of free space with at least 1 GB additional space for custom content and saved games

If the laptops have anything other than that, you will have to inquire at EA. Historically, laptops have had issues with the video cards and the video ram and pixel shaders that Sims 4 requires.

There are minimum required specs and recommended specs. I advise to look at the recommended specs.
Also this is for the base game from 2014.
If you want EP's you need to look at those recommended specs.
