Default Remembering TheSims2.ea.com and the many Sims stories that were on there
One part of The Sims 2 that no longer exists, but did for 9 years is all of the community functionality of TheSims2.ea.com (as EA has taken down the site by this point). Unlike later Sims sites, TheSims2.ea.com worked as some sort of pseudo-social creative hub. People uploaded their CC there, people made sims, people made lots and most importantly, people made stories. In fact before the site was taken offline there was oner 171 000 stories on there.

A very small part of that has been saved and ported onto https://clockwatching.net/~jack/s2/reader/

I made a youtube video discussing the site, its significance and how meaningful it was to my childhood, but honestly I just want people to be aware that some sims stories still exist. And as such, first of all, happy upcoming The Sims 2 20th anniversary! Secondly, do you remember any favourite stories from TheSims2.ea.com and did any of them make it onto clockwatching?

Well, that's a find! I looked at stories on the EA site while waiting for my discs to arrive from e-bay (it was 2010 and you could still get hardcopies online inexpensively) and getting very excited. I felt like I'd explored everything in Sims 1, and the uploaded stories here were showing me all kinds of things - close up camera angles! Varied and expressive faces! Babies! Toddlers! Teens! - that I'd actively been feeling the lack of in the old game. I don't recognize any titles here, but then I probably wouldn't. I chiefly remember reading a lot of Nickel and Dimed challenges, which gave me a broad overview of a lot of features.

(My simblr isSim Media Res . Widespot,Widespot RFD: The Subhood, and Land Grant University are all available here. In case you care.)

Thank you! I'm hoping that perhaps we'll find even more of them somewhere in the wild. This is but one site, perhaps someone else has saved some more. And even if this is all that's left, it is better than nothing!

I was on the swedish thesims.se
There was indeed many great stories there. I remember particulary the story ''tre veckor'' (three weeks).

Great video you made!
