The Platinum City Challenge
The Platinum City ChallengeFellow Simmer, have you ever thought that the Sims 2 doesn’t really pose a real challenge? Well, this is for you. One of the most hardcore challenges, this may make you rage-quit. This challenge is for the people who want to have a BACC, but hate running shops (Like me ) or for people who want to gain more patience. (Warning, this can be quite frustrating.). I've had this challenge in my mind for quite a while now, but couldn't get to share it with the Sim community.
The Challenge
This challenge's purpose is to create a city that is not only beautiful, but you can also look at the hard-work you've done and feel proud and tough... (Trust me, this is REALLY hard )
Start with a custom empty neighbourhood, or a premade neighbourhood. All the lots are locked except for the houses. That means your Sims can’t go to these community lots; all of them are locked. If you want, type into each lot’s title or description “Locked”. You have 1 free College Sub-Hood, but you only have 1 dormitory. You also have 1 free graveyard. (But remember that it’s a graveyard! You cannot put other stuff in it (Such as a clothing store), only bathrooms and a classical music speaker.)
If you have a custom neighbourhood, then you have 5 free houses.
Sims cannot build skills whenever they want to except if they are in a Secret Society Lot or a Hobby Lot, or if they have been to college and finished it (Or are in.). If they aren’t in a Secret Society Lot or a Hobby Lot, or if they haven’t finished college or they aren’t in it, they can only build skills if they have it in their Wants.
With each Platinum Grave, you can unlock an Upgrade. (College Locked Lot, Neighbourhood Locked Lot, Vacation Destination, DownTown, or a Sim Bin Family.). Platinum Graves are only valid in this challenge when the deceased Sim had eternal platinum with their Lifetime Want (That means they can’t have eternal platinum with too many wants fulfilled. That doesn’t count.).
Hobby Lots and Secret Society Lots are open, but they can only be visited from any Sim from each Household every Tuesday. They can also use whatever they want and build skills without it being one of their Wants, however Sims cannot sleep in the Lot.
The Sim that inherits the most money from the heir becomes the next one.
With every Platinum Grave, you roll a dice from 1-6 to decide which upgrade you’ll do:
1: Main neighbourhood = Unlock any community lot (Only 1) If you have unlocked all of them, you can place more.
2: Vacation Destination
3: Shopping District (The houses are all locked.)
4: Downtown (The houses are all locked.)
5: College = Unlock any community lot or house, or dorm.(Only 1). If you have unlocked all of them, you can place more.
6: Sims from the Sim Bin. You can choose any family you want!
In a College sub-hood or a Shopping District sub-hood, you can move all the pre-existing Sims to the Sim Bin if you want.
Your Sims, unfortunately, also have to pay extra Bills. To pay the bills, make a transaction through Monique’s Hacked Computer or if you do not have this mod, then you can either pull up a calculator and use the familyfunds cheat, or also pull up a calculator and buy an expensive statue or something without a use, and placing it into a Sim’s inventory. If you have allmenus enabled, you can use the Money [amount | +amount | -amount] cheat to pay it.
Every 1st day of summer, annually, all unpaid bills gain an interest of 5,000 simoleons each. For example, if a sim still owes 10,000 for a garage, and 10,000 for his wedding, it will be 15,000 and 15,000 in the 1st day of summer. So bills should be paid as soon as possible! Also, Sims cannot go to college if they have unpaid bills.
Here’s a list of them:
Mortgage = 45,000 (+ 10,000 per floor and per building, for example the Grunt’s House’s second building in their residence. Pay after moving into house.)
Garage = 10,000
Helicopter Base = 50,000
Pool = 20,000
Burglar Alarm = 20,000 (Mandatory after Mortgage payment.)
Fire Alarm = 20,000 (Mandatory after Mortgage payment.)
Pond = 5,000
Car = 5,000 (Per generation; you can’t have them forever!)
Maid = 5,000 (Per generation.)
Butler = 10,000 (Per generation.)
Gardener = 5,000 (Per generation.)
Wedding License, Engagement Ring = 5,000 + 5,000
Funeral-Grave space in cemetery = 5,000
Funeral-Pet Grave = 5,000
Baby Adoption = 20,000
Private School = 10,000 (For all current kids/teens in household.)
College = 10,000 (Per Sim)
Online College Degree = 80,000 (If a Sim wants to build skills without being in their Wants, then they have to pay this. If you have the Batbox and can give them a degree, then you can also do that.)
Vacations = 5,000 (Per Sim.)
Vacation Home License = 30,000
Cure For Supernaturals = 20,000
Elixir Of Life = 30,000 (Per bottle.) If something goes wrong, you get a refund.
Plead For Life = 30,000. If Grim rejects your begging, no refund is given!
Resurrect Sim (Zombie or Not) = 50,000
Change Aspiration = 30,000. If your Sim turns into a Grilled Cheese fanatic (It goes wrong), you get a refund.
Plastic Surgery = 10,000
This challenge may be too hardcore. If poverty ensues, then slight mercy is given: You can get a small loan, but have to pay twice the amount of it…
Have fun, and if you have any questions or cool suggestions, please don't hesitate to ask!
