Unfortunately, I think both box.net and MediaFire have undergone some pretty bad enshittification, so I can't blame people for falling back onto SFS.

I still have my original mediafire account, which has been pretty stable, to be honest. Box, however, has gone through so many changes I wouldn't trust it to hold water, let alone files.

I'm not sure what you're looking for, but sims-cloud still exists, so you can find that. And doing a search here for SFS being down will probably bring up the threads about it. They were migrating over to a new server, and the downloads were unavailable for quite awhile.

I'm all about using SFS, but I don't think it should be the one and only link to things. No one site should.

Found this. Apparently there's no way to register, lol.

Incorrect. I have access to the admin panel.

There are two other admins of the site (Kethryveris is also one of Tashiketh's). But good question for @Tashiketh !

I have no plans to go anywhere and will update with Sims 5 when it's out too. Don't worry, the servers are safe (and backed up every night!).

Oh, and thanks for the reminder. I just updated leefish to use https, so that should fix the stylesheet issues. (Plus redirected http to https too).

Regarding SFS, the reason it was down for a long time way back when was because there where/are multiple terabytes of data. Currently looking at 34 terabytes of data for SFS). So it took a bloody long time to move server hosts. (I also do server maintenance and stuff for them too)

I think it went down a long time ago. You were able to register once upon a time. I tried to log back in today, when I remembered the place, and it said I wasn't registered, which is untrue unless they deleted accounts.

I'm glad MTS is planning to be around for the long run. I'd miss this place terribly if it disappeared.

So you're the reason it's staying up and running! I was worried Ginnie would be out of a home when Lee died.

By the way, I'm so sorry that Lee is gone. I had no idea she was ill.

Yes, I'm still hosting it as I've always done. I don't intend on stopping. In fact, the server it's on is pretty much only dedicated to leefish.

Why people provided alternate links? Because the Simming world has gotten burned by hosts before. Years ago, SFS was down for a long time, and a host called sims-cloud popped up. I uploaded some things there, and then those file links expired. IDK if I have them anymore, so those items are could be gone for good. Wouldn't have happened if I'd uploaded to a couple different places.

Yeah, that does make sense.

But ... you don't keep the stuff you've uploaded on your computer or in your Sims game?

What would happen to MTS etc. though if (God forbid) Tashiketh wasn't around anymore?

Not always. There are several requests I've filled that aren't to my taste and things that didn't make the cut when I got new computers. They are probably on an old hard drive, but who's to say.

I keep all my stuff on a targa drive.
