Didn't Grant say at one point that we don't have poker and other casino games in Sims 4 because today's young people don't gamble? And the same goes for other things from previous games like print/deliverable newspapers and landline phones.

I have been wondering though, why don't we have longer hairs in the Sims 4? There's that one from the university pack, but other than that most "longer" hair only reaches below the shoulders. There's the illusion of long hair with ponytails and updos, but it's something they did so much better in The Sims 3.

I know the loot box machines ( disguised as vending machines) in Snowy Escape are not casino-ish, but there is gambling in the game. For the time being, the loot that comes from said machines doesn't cost real money.

Honestly, I AM shocked.

10 years of good sales and profits on the Sims 4, and now we have better computer technology and development tools than ever before. Yet they can't pull together a team to make something that can rival what Maxis did almost 20 years ago? This has to be sheer incompetence and mismanagement to extreme levels. There is no excuse for this outcome for the Sims. None at all. They have utterly failed their community which took them decades to build up. A community who stuck around after every disappointment, and who were still willing to stick around and wait and give Sims 5 a chance. And now they give us this cop-out corporate speak? I'm lost for words.

Welcome to Fact Club #1:

Corporations aren’t our friends. They don’t care whether you’re alive or death, let alone what a silly video game means to us. Emotions and sincerity isn’t and never is their thing; Money is, And coming from Electronic Arts, they wouldn’t be electronic if they weren’t a Con-artist they used to be.

On a brightside: At least we won’t see another hot discussion how broken and lackluster the next gen Sim game is. I don’t know how you still people TS5 could have surpassed TS4.

P.S. Sorry for my bad english.

For us who are ranting here, there is a survey from EA about upcoming game (expansion) packs, so at least they seem to be somewhat interested in our opinions.

I did the survey. I voted for Cyberpunk and Crime & Law enforcement.

We got Plumbots and a detective career in Get To Work. But that was so long ago and the Plumbots leave a lot to be desired when compared to the ones we got in Sims 3: Into the Future. So I think they could do with a full refresh. I also think the Crime pack could be a good opportunity to bring back burglars and give us new active careers.

Also, am I the only one who doesn't care much for new worlds? I feel like we have enough already and if we could vote for an expansion pack to omit a new world in exchange for extra gameplay instead I would be all for it.

Because - young people! If Grant was on the team, I bet he make a ludicrous statement that “young people identify as they/them, so long hair is not popular as much as colored hair do”

If I were a betting person, I'd say that just because there won't be a TS5 doesn't mean the fighting, bickering and nonsense will stop.

People have had literally years to sit in their corners and on the hills they claim they are willing to die on. These kinds of things don't just go away. I think it is going to be status quo, at least for awhile. Instead of spitballs flying in 2 directions, now there will be several.

I got so irritated reading about that “ocean pack” which was literally all content from TS3 Island Paradise that should have been included in Island Living but somehow wasn’t.

I ended up voting for the children’s sleepaway camp pack and the van pack. Children don’t have enough to do and I’m hoping if that van pack comes to fruition then it’ll finally give them an excuse to add cars to the game

I voted for none partly because none of the ideas appeal to me and partly because they need to fix the buggy mess they've turned the game into before they do anything else

I started the survey but never finished because they already know what we want.

LGR has posted a new video about his thoughts on the recent news:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n2pctQYDu0I

He also says that he'll continue to cover TS4 expansions for now, but admits he doesn't really want to cover anything to do with the game anymore. Can't say I blame him.

And people in here said I was wrong that I didn’t think project was TS5. Jee, moving cushions on a couch and being able to finishing building on a go with a smartphone isn’t the key feature, who would have thought of that? While the peak of how they showcase Sims can get angry while cooking could have fooled hs, even then wtf - why TS5 would still advertised Emotions as a key element while TS4 had it and was dog shit. It’s pretty insulting thinking they giving us TS5 solely on delivering those features.

P.S. Sorry for my bad english.

My personal hunch is that Project Rene is essentially "The Sims 5" in all but name, but after what happened to SimCity they've decided to go for a Nintendo DS-style "third pillar" strategy to protect the series in case the game bombs. Multiplayer has always been hugely risky for the series, so if doesn't work out, they can just let it die and pump out a more traditional single player sequel.

If Project Rene ends up being wildly successful, I reckon EA will pivot away from TS4 pretty quickly to focus on that game.

I finally patched today, getting both the dreaded Love Struck patch and the most recent one with a truck load of fixes. And yep, loads of mods need fixing. While updating my bed mods, I came across a new object XML for a vampire coffin. Realizing it must belong to that coffin coming with the new battlepass crap stuff next month. And the coffin is last on the list of freebies so won't be available in games for nearly two months or thereabouts. But I can confirm it is a vamp coffin, in case anyone is wondering, based on the coding for the medium coffiin that came with the vampire GP many moons ago. But unlike those three coffins, it has been given the For Rent snoop interaction in its affordences list. Yay!! Whoop-de-blooming-well-do. Can't wait for that! What a difference it will make. Bring on the Death!

I'm not doubting what you said, but why would a coffin need a snoop interaction? No matter what way I think of this, it makes zero sense.

Sims snooping on a coffin?

Dead sims can snoop?

Sims can use a coffin to snoop? I guess. It might be fun, once.

If vampires play into this somehow, they can read minds already. Yes? They don't need to snoop.

Clearly I'm missing something and or overthinking it.

I just want the items added to the game. I didn’t find the event at all engaging.

“Talk to three Sims.”
“Plant two flowers.”
“Summon Grim.”

I want this effort put into the other systems in the game. Players are begging for what felt like the bare minimum years ago.

It’s been 10 years and we’re still getting vendor stalls, rabbit holes, or faceless kiosks for any kind of shopping or dining. I feel like the last actual lot we got was in Thrift Shop and Bubble Tea stores - WHICH should be 2 instead of 1…

Even during The Sims 3, during the 2nd Expansion Pack, Maxis realized that there needs to be a generic place for all ages to visit socially, so we got a hangout lot type.

Where do teens go to hangout in The Sims 4? A nightclub or bar.
