Update not succesful installation will now terminate.


Sorry to post again as I do have a previous post about exchanging old sims to a new laptop however I am installing all of my sims/expansionpacks/stuff packs and the order states mansion and garden stuff came last so when ever I get to that pack it comes up with the error update not successful installation will now terminate. So because i havnt got all the right packs etc I dont think i can recover my old sims. what can i do? i have tried installing the patches i have and also turning antivirus off.

Do you have the disk to do a reinstall of the game or what?

Do you have windows 8.1 or ?

If you do have either windows 7/8.1 you will need to turn off User Account Control and maybe your antivirus program before you can update your game for both can and will block changes to the programs folders.

thank you for reply. I tried that, didnt work .. I am on windows 8.
Also when i try to install the two holiday party packs the festive ones it tells me they are already installed when theyre not and never have been on this laptop? xx

Have you at any point downloaded the Ultimate Collection? It seems like your computer still has files and if you have not put on Celebration Stuff than it must have come from somewhere.

Uninstall all of them, and everything - go to your programmes to make sure everything is uninstalled. Clean each and every disc properly, it can make a difference. Go offline and start over. You cannot register/ re-register them anyway. It should not matter if you don't have all the ep's or sp's, as long as you start with the base game. (Trust me, I've done that more than once in my pre- ulitmate collelction life ) If it does it again, there might be a problem with your actual mansion and garden disc., it might be scratched or damaged just enough for your pc to be unable to read it properly. It matters to her hoods and families that she has all the EP's including M&G. Trouble is OP you now have two or more threads confusing the issue and multiple problems.

Cherry you keep avoiding the very straight question: Do you have the disc? Can you just answer yes or no please.

She said on one of her other threads that her EP's are on disk and her SP's are downloads.
