Do you have LimeyYoshi's updated file? I know I had some issue with it and pinged them to be told it had been updated.

I downloaded it a month ago, so it's the updated version. And the weird clock is the only issue I'm having, I haven't gotten any errors.

What's wrong with the pop up? Mine has always looked something like that. I will see if I have a screenshot.

What does LimeyYoshi's fix do? Does it fix the random "sim will be gone for 3 days" bug that you have to force error on them x2 to fix?

My popup has always said, "Subject will return in X hours X minutes".

And when it says more than 3 days (which it does very occasionally ) I force the subject home by 'deleting" them from the lot and then adding them back in by using the insimenator-that works.

That's clearly a glitch in the matrix.

I have both the CLT and Yoshi's patch. I've never seen the 'data retries' thing. And the timer concurs with when I know the sim should return. Was your sim really off-lot for eight days?

Nope, they were off-lot for the afternoon and came back correctly. The timer counts down, but in no discernible pattern.

I suspect you must have something else interfering with it, then.

I can't find a screenshot from my game, sorry. But the "data retries" screenshot looks like the original community time project from MATY, not Chris Hatch's version. That's why I thought it looked normal.

Or could it be a non-US-English language issue? I used to play in UK English and now play in US English (because it's the same and I couldn't be bothered to change it manually).

I remember the "8h40" etc because I remember thinking that is how times are written in French, and also, the original mod used to have two separate pop ups, one saying "Sim returning in XXX minutes" and one saying "Waiting until +0 days at 14h30" and the one with the clock time would time out while the other one stayed on screen and I remember thinking that was strange and it ought to be the other way around.

I'm having an issue which may be a conflict between Community Time Project and TimeController, both of them Chris Hatch's versions. Sims and pets are not aging normally...I thought I had it pinned down to the combination of TimeController and the "Lifestyle" religion update by cityof2morrow, but that seems less clear now.

Have others seen an aging problem using these mods?

In testing, I couldn't reproduce the glitch, but as soon as I started playing normally, it was back. Maybe CTP is also involved, because a major difference between testing and playing was that my sims visited community lots, although they were all at home when aging hour came. Would using the sethour cheat bypass the glitch somehow?

Let me ask you one weird question-do you have an aging hack for vampires in your downloads? It was by Squinge and although he updated it, I think it still does turns aging off for pets.

That one (although not a popular mod) is known to stop normal aging of pets. If you do have it, remove it. I have both the mods described in your post and they have never stopped aging.

Only that hack did. Once I removed it all was well.

No, I never play with vampires, that can't be it. Thanks for the suggestion, though. I did check my SQ folder just in case!

Do you use Community Time alongside the TimeController? Do your sims return home when the popup indicates? Since using the Time Controller and Lifestyles mods, my sims appear home a bit later than indicated. Not massively, and it seems to be proportional to how long they were off-lot. For a short outing they came home about 30 minutes after flagged, and for a longer spree, an hour or two.

If it isn't a problem between these three mods, I'm stumped. I already did the big search and thought I had found the cuplrit/s.

I've never had the 'lifestyle' mod-I have no idea what it is or what it does. I just have CLT and the time controller together in the same folder. No problems so far. They always show up at the time indicated.

However, I have had problems with them being stuck off home lot before, but that I've been able to cure by 'deleting' them off the lot and then 'restore family' with the Sim Blender, which works.

That's a known problem, nothing to do with any of the mods except sometimes the CLT gets stuck.

EDIT: I just looked up that 'lifestyle mod' and I would not touch any of that because any of the religious stuff by either Almighty Hat or Chris Hatch screws up my play style badly, to the point where I won't even dare put any of it in my game ever again.

Both of them are touchy to say the least.

It resets my Lot Sync Timer (which I depend on very heavily), and resets pixels themselves. It's been problematic for me ever since they came out.

It sounds like the 'lifestyle' is probably the culprit.

Actually, it may be something to do with SmartAgeCorrect - apparently even the you-can-leave-this-in versions are a bit pernickety if left in. I'm going to test that option.
mrcsthernr has given me a long list of load-order tweaks to help the TimeController fit better around other things.

I don't use the LotSyncTimer - could never get the hang of it! In the end I gave up. Funny what works for different people.

Damn, that life styles mod reads almost exactly the same as Chris Hatch's religion mod.

There is nothing to 'get the hang of' for it. You set it up on each lot, and it runs automatically each day (turning over at 6 pm). It just merely records the number of the day-you can mark 'special days' where you know someone is going to die or age up, (or whatever you want to mark) but it's not a hard mod to use.

I've modified mine to read a lot differently than Pescado wrote it-that took re-writing the text output on it. Some of its' features you never touch because it'll reset your game and that's not a good idea.

The one thing I do miss is that prior to one of the EP's you could actually 'jump' to the next lot that you want to play. I still miss that feature but Pescado refused to update it and has never done so. He says that the feature would disrupt the time/space continuum and he can't do that..

Wait sorry what resets the game? What does that mean? I use the LotSyncTimer all the time and I use the time warp function, despite Pescado's warnings. I did think this might be the culprit of the CLT mod issue. I always just assumed these were proxies for the SetHour / SetDay cheats? It has never destroyed any of my lots.

But actually, since putting in Limey's fix, I think it was probably that I would have either closed the dialog or saved while a sim was off-lot (which is what makes it change to grabbing the carpool car instead of the sim). Something really strange happened on one of my lots after putting this in though - I was playing a couple, and one of them said goodbye like a visitor and walked off the lot, and their portrait vanished. I thought it was strange because I was sure I remembered him moving in, but I thought maybe I'd just saved with him selectable and forgotten. I checked in his girlfriend's memories and she DID remember him joining the family. I took her to a community lot while I mulled this over, and when she came back there he was standing on the pavement with all his motives reset and his portrait reinstated. All seems fine with them now. So far (touch wood) I haven't had the extra-long-absence problem.

Pescado made a fake warning about the 'time warp function' to make sure newbies wouldn't be crying on his shoulder. He did not mean it but that warning is still taken seriously.

What I was in reference to was the religion mod resets the LST for me and usually resets pixels on a lot. There is a function in that mod that disrupts the time flow function and I have repeatedly used it but it does this every time I have. In fact, Almighty Hat has noted my problems with her version of the mod on her page for it.

That's why I bring it up. If it resets one person's LST others should be made aware of the possibility that it will do the same to theirs. I depend on that mod very heavily for my gameplay and 'game diaries' so if it constantly resets it does a number on my recording of events. I like doing that for myself because it's fun for me. Others might think I'm being OCD. Oh, well.

I know that it might be just a trifle for most people but I thought it would bear mentioning. If one doesn't care about the problem, fine. I just wanted it out there to be noted.

OK, sorry, I'm confused.

Let me summarise what I understand and we can fill in the blanks

1. You are saying that the religion/lifestyle mod (which seem to be the same thing with slightly different text) make the Lot Sync Timer reset (as in, lose all data storing what day each household is on?) - this is good to know, as that would also be disastrous for me. I will be sure not to install them

2. The religion mod and/or the lot sync timer cause a global reset when taken in or out - OK - a lot of mods do this - I am not so worried about this. It's only an issue when I'm doing a 50/50 mod check, which I always do on a copy of the hood anyway. It is useful info for players in general - not all mod creators say when their mods cause a global reset.

This is where I'm confused:

I do use the time warp feature. I have always been cautious about it because of Pescado's warning (though it sounds like you say this is overblown?) but so far, it's never caused an issue for me and so I've probably got a bit blasé about it. I don't manically spam it swapping them constantly between hours etc and I try to check whether people are at work or should be if I'm going to change the time, but I quite often use it to change the weekday e.g. when I move someone into a new house, and their weekday is Monday but they are on day 12, which is Thursday in my hood or whatever. (I also use the Seasons vase to match the season).

5. What about doing this would make a newbie cry? I am far from a newbie, but as far as I can tell, there is nothing bad that happens using the time warp option. As said, I did think that it was the cause of the Community Lot Time error, until I saw other people getting the same error but assumed that they probably don't swap days around like I have. And since I saw Limey's explanation that closing the diaglogue or saving while a sim is off-lot causes the CLT to lose the sim's data and for some reason grab their carpool car instead, which inserts junk data into the time left field - this makes a LOT of sense because I have ADHD and closing a popup I'm not supposed to close is absolutely something I would do absent-mindedly just because it's cluttering up the screen and annoying me. I've closed all kinds of dialogs this way - parties etc.

I modified the text output of the LST to be simpler: from what it was (9 or 10 letters and numbers) to just "Davis Family, Day X," I hate to read long lines of text in any mod, and so I went into SimPE to change only the text portion of the LST output. However, that also means I've gone into SimPE and change the text lines of the "Household" name as well to read specifically on LST as that. I often do that, to keep things straight in my game.

I don't know what feature of the Religion mod reset the LST timer-it did not show in HDCU, and I am not as well versed in the language to find out otherwise.

3. Which features of the Lot sync timer reset the game- A: where the LST reset to "Install the LST for this family" after playing an entire neighborhood. Every single family, every time. That is very, very irritating.

If you play a neighborhood a number of days, and the LST says, "X Day" on all lots, then goes back to "Install for this family " this is what I mean by 'reset' In some instances pixels were jump bugging, and that was the last straw. I will not have any mod do that in my game. I'll delete any that cause the problem.

As for the 'other features A: I am referring to the 'time warp' function and the internal workings of the LST.

As for the modification for the text output I do have a copy of my modified LST if you would like to use it. There are no other changes to it from that and it's pretty easy to do it yourself in SimPE.

In my mind, the Religion mod is a good idea and I'd love to use it, however the fact that it has not been updated to this date by any of the modders who did it the first time, is not good. It's the ultimate case of "caveat emptor'. I'm just one person who was not able to use the mod, and that does not mean you can't or shouldn't.

I'm just relating what happened to my game with the mod. I tried it multiple times and the same issues came up repeatedly. I have learned that it just does not like the mod and so I have to leave it out.

Downloaded the Sims 2 Legacy collection on ea play and moved over all my mods from my cd version to the rerelease and everything is working except for Community Time Project, anyone have or know of any fixes for it? I have seen Lazy Duchess time sync mod but it's not the same as I love to play the sims I leave at home when my other sim has gone to a community lot. This is one of my must have mods and I'll miss it now so any ideas are appreciated

I do not know why it is not working or how you can fix it. This is not the right thread either to ask that question. Any issues with the CLT in the re-release should be asked in the threads about that particular version of the game.
