Ghost pm won't go away

I have a notification and a number 1 next to the letter in the top right corner of the screen here. when I go there and into my pms, nothing shows up. it says
Inbox contains 0 messages.
You have 1 messages stored, of a total 200 allowed.

but that message isn't visible and it's annoying I can't make it go away
