It's possible that there will come a day when 32-bit software will no longer be compatible with, or catered for by, newer/future Windows OS (I mean look at what happened to Mac players) and EA will be forced to put out a (broken) 64-bit version of The Sims 3 for PC/Windows players. I wouldn't be surprised... :/

I've just come to the conclusion that some people can't conceive of TS3 running really well because they simply can't or won't take the time to put in the effort that is required to get TS3 to run nicely. Should we have to? No, of course not, but the fact remains that you need to.
These people seem to want the game to play perfectly on the most mediocre laptap available with hungreds of gb's of custom content, and then wail when their game runs like utter crap. I ran TS3 on a very low end computer for years, and I was aware of the limitations. I never played on maximum settings, on lots that were over 30x30, I didn't play large custom worlds filled with foliage or extra CC, and I never crammed my game full of content that I knew would slow it down, but there are some that do, and just refuse to learn that you can't do that without consequence unless you're willing to take the time to install the mods that TS3 really does need to run nicely. Even then ( in my opinion ) you should be careful what you install into the game if you want it to keep running well.

I have a top of the line PC now ( or I did, two years ago, its probably outdated by now ) but my CC folder is still only 4gb big, and I'm discerning in what kind of content I put into the game, simply because I like it to run nicely. Some of our games do run well because we take care, and that isn't a lie.

Are the Sims and Sims 2 re-releases 64-bit?

Sims 3 desperately needs to be 64-bit, but it does appear that we're not getting love for that this cycle. My Sims 3 game has run smoothly for a long time. I think one of the most important things people need to have is a frame rate limiter.

Now that I have a completely excessive Mac for other reasons, I've installed with Codeweavers Crossover, and it does in fact run amazingly. I think one will always need NRaas Overwatch and ErrorTrap to handle game bloat and save file bloat.

I know that Sims 3 is still for sale via Steam and EA App, but is anyone really buying them? It just seems weird to me. There are a lot of Sims 3 players around, and lots of us would pay for a 64-bit rerelease. Though I'm not sure I would for a DRM-locked, always-internet version. I'm still hanging out on 1.67
