Default Unfinished Room Problem
Hi all, I have just moved into the Wolff residence recently have made little adjustments to the estate here and there nothing major.
However lately I've been getting the "Unfinished Room" moodlet in a room (the study) which I have not touched at all. I don't recall adding or removing anything from that room though.
Maybe you guys could take a look.

I've tried painting the walls on the other side too but it didn't make a difference.

Do you have a roof?

Yup its roofed.

This is a pre built house and I'm pretty sure I did not add/remove anything to this room, perhaps I've accidentally sledgehammered something when I was working on other parts of the place, but I just can't figure out where.

Did you apply ceiling tiles? Until you do, it is like the walls just plasterboard. The old houses from before the EP didn't have paintable ceilings so they may not be tiled.

Are you using any mods and if yes, are they compatible with your game version? I had this problem, in addition to the sim experiencing this moodlet having major route fail, when I accidentally downloaded a new version of a mod without updating my game. Or maybe it was the other way around, where I had an old mod but had updated. I forget now, but it was a case of mod and game version incompatibility.

Okay the problem seems to be the staircase.
Apparently if I have a flight of steps leading up to the room, my Sims don't like it.
It works fine with other parts of the house though, just not this one, any idea why?

nope, not using any mods.

Could the problem be the unfinished wall above the dining table?

Ok, this is a speculation, but from what I can see in your pictures the problem may not be there, in that especific place. I'll try to explain what I think the best I can because english it's not my first language an it would be easier with a pen and a paper.

From what I see that room it's not a "closed room", the walls aren't conected in every point. When you quit the staircase a build a wall you transfrom that room in an "independent unit" a "closed polygon" and the moodlet disapear, so the problem is anywhere else. Where? Ok, when you place the staircase again, look where that room belongs to. Look at the big picture of the floor plan of that level and find the "independent unit" the "closed polygon" which that room is into. Maybe there's something unfinished out of that room, maybe not, but I think the moodlet comes from "outside" the room.

Well, I've just found the problem. In the last two pictures, look at uper left corner. That wall it's not painted.

Patry: Spot On! I understand what you mean about the 'independent unit'.
I found out the problem, which was due to another room that I've built on the same floor (2nd floor) for my baby but I left it unpainted etc as my baby's still sleeping with us in the masterbed room.
So with the staircase, my Sim is having the moodlet due to the unfinished room on the same floor on the other side. Thanks alot!!

Oprah and the rest : Thanks for offering tips and suggestions. =)

If anyone is reading this thread, I found a mod by Nona Mena for fixing this issue https://simlogical.com/ContentUploa...e/uploads/1663/. Good luck and happy simming!
