I totally misread that as "girls will always start fires if they're placed indoors" and I was just about to offer Charity a safe place to stay.

God forbid a girl do anything. XD

Nothing like a barbecue indoors. All that nice smoke, the carbon monoxide... (cough, cough)

Peeve of the day: when people upload hair with a preview only showing the hair in black - perhaps they mention the palette they use in the upload post but don't link to it, perhaps it's somewhere in a pinned post or a resource list, perhaps it's just "teehee, all of my followers know which hair palette I'm currently using obv" - and I have to download it and put it in my game before finding out the blonde is SCREAMINGLY yellow.

Other peeve: preview pics that have multiple sims painstakingly posed to model a hair or clothing very attractively, but despite the different poses... they all show what the creation looks like from the front, ONLY.

The ol' blue screen of death (BSOD; stop error; kernel panic) popping up while playing and losing a bunch of progress. Had that happen once or twice.

One of my pet peeves, too. Black hair usually looks... black. No surprise there. All other colors show the shape of the hair better, and you get a feel for the palette even if just one color is shown.

I'm happiest when there's a full turnaround of the mesh and the hair is shown in at least one of the other colors (blond, brown and/or red). Makes it much easier to see the details, rather than a black hair where all details just disappear and you can barely (if at all) see the texture details.

At least the sim community has moved on from the fashion for black backgrounds in all preview pics - lemonlion's default clothes, for instance!

I've used Pooklet hair textures for years and years in my game, so I know my way around them and which creators I like, but I've just started a very low-CC folder and, well, people's view of what's "Maxis Match" are far more variable than I knew. Just because these specific hairs are all done in Simgaroop textures or in Remi textures doesn't mean they'll look at all cohesive with each other.

I don't like things in a house or apartment that blocks my view.

The worst is these built in wardrobes usually found in an Apartment type lot. There are two in this shot that completely block the line of sight to the bedroom behind them.
What is particularly annoying is if it is an apartment lot you can't delete them once you move someone in and amend the wall.

Might be able to hide them with the wall down with flag "hide for cutaway" set, although I'm looking towards hiding the awnings the same way at the moment.

I do take requests, but only for coding.

Maybe you can set the flag "obstructs view" in charles object editor that fades the object out (for as long as the object is not reset) similar to a chimney. Although I personally dislike this flag: the object seems not made of real material, reveals parts behind it that are not finished and it cannot be clicked on when in a partially faded state. I always set objects to not fade and instead arrange them such that they are not in the way too much (I don't use ceiling lamps). I set elevators and stairs to not fade. Chimneys, annoyingly, reset to obsctruct view.

I now imagine your sims hiding from you so you don't delete them.

I'm the opposite -- I arrange the furniture in my Sims' houses to suit them; I put things where I would want them if I was living in the house. As I see it, it's their house, and it's a privilege that I'm allowed to join them and watch what they're doing. If something’s in the way, then I have to find another camera angle. The room is arranged to suit the Sims who live in it, not to suit me -- the intrusive "watcher"!

There are some contradictions in the way I play. I prefer, when possible, to play with all walls up, and get into the room beside my Sims, seeing things as if I were another Sim in the room. But I also prefer to play poorer Sims, rather than the ultra-rich in their lavish mansions. Basically Sims whose outlook on life is likely to be more like my own. But, like myself, such Sims tend to live in smaller houses with smaller rooms, so squeezing the camera into the room beside them can be a bit of a job. So I might then play with walls half up, but put them up fully to take pictures. But, if it's a tiny room, like a bathroom, sometimes the best I can do is a wide angle "fish-eye" effect.

As a rule of thumb, I try not to do anything to my Sims that I wouldn't want them to do to me, if our positions were ever reversed!

All Sims are beautiful -- even the ugly ones.

I kind of do that as well. Prefer to see what all my sims are up to!

I like the cutaway walls, so the view isn't blocked, but you can still see walls.
