Default Missing Maxis hair, without default replacement
I was installing custom hair and then suddenly one of the maxis default hair is missing.
[IMG][/IMG]

I rarely use default replacement especially on this hair cos it's gorgeous. When I put the missing maxis hair it turned to be other maxis hair?

I have no clue how to fix it do you guys have similar problems or maybe I did do replace it some how?
what I did to fix this: reinstall still not working, delete thumbnails and cache, still nothing, clone on SimPe? don't know how hahaha

And wow, clothes are missing too guys it's like all basegame disappear is it possible that this has virus?

I did, still nothing, I am looking for nightlife EP, when I saw the disappear mesh I figured it all come from nightlife, maybe my installer is incomplete, but I use this installer for about 5 years and only have issues when I start to add CC (which can be fixed with other CC)

Check the modification date on your objects.package, that's what caused a similar problem for me.

Did you try to remove the CC/defaults you added just before the issues happened, and see if the items return?

Could be a borked item, or a missing mesh, or an item that requires either shaders on, or the "sim/detail" setting to be on high (does look like you already have that on high, but doesn't hurt to check).

If you reinstalled and currently don't have CC, which game version do you have? If it's the original UC version linked to EA, it's enough to just do "fix game". If it's any other version you'll want to check that the files that seem to be missing are actually there in the install folder.

Yeah, I am afraid if it is borked I don't know which outfit causes it. It seemed like it only affected hair and clothes from the nightlife EP. I have removed the default replacement and still didn't fix it. I use installer by elAmigos, I have been using it for 5 to six years I only have the problems now when I finally decided to add CC. I just realize UC stands for Ultimate Collection? I already have ultimate collection. So maybe the installer is incomplete since it is also didnt have IKEA SP

Ultimate Collection/UC is the EA version of all the packs, and it was available a short time on their site for free back in 2015.

Repacks of the CD versions are not the same as the UC, even if they come with all the packs (and some have issues - at least one is known to not have the IKEA pack, for instance).

I think Osab has one that might be more complete, though haven't personally tried it out.

I basically clean up all of my sims 2 and start new one. And still not working I didn't have this problem before, I think it's based on graphic or am I missing something? I haven't tried OSab one I think it's the same with Elamigos one, but I dunno, I once have traumatic experience with buying CD version online, people literally and slowly disappear one after another like a The Grudge horror film. I think the one that causes problems are nightlife EP the others work just fine

Are you sure the files worked fine before you added CC (and before reinstalling)?

Did you delete any files in Bodyshop or ingame after adding CC?

Have you checked if the files are present in the Nightlife folder? If you need it you can get an overview of the files and filesizes (it's roughly the same filenames as in the other EP folders. Occasional folders have a file or two "missing" compared to the naming, this is usually normal if it's one of the very small files). You'll want to look in the "...TSData\Res\3D" and "...TSData\Res\Objects" folders).

Yes I have played it without CC for 4 years and there is no bug or glitch like this before I started adding CC for 1 year ago. So the game is pretty much stable.

If there is something missing to the 3D file what should I do beside reinstalling (cos is not working anymore)

Well I think it's semi-fixed now that I have good installer. I took your advice to instal using OSAB installer however I don't know where I can find body shop and IKEA SP seemed still missing. Both Osab and Elamigos still missing here and there the difference is Osab is more fixed than the other.

Have you checked out Osab's install guide? If there is an issue with the Ikea pack in their version, there's likely something on how to fix it there:

It's a way to figure out what's causing issues in the downloads folder.

Yes, I followed the instructions. It turns out you need to open Lazy Duchess RPC settings to summon all the EP and SP. It seemed like a pretty neat installer. The only problem now is tidying up my CC. My food CC is a mess, my Jackysims food stands didn't give me the correct food so I need to do a lot of TTABing haha hopefully it works out. Still cant find the body shop for this though it says in SP9 but I cant find it.

I think I already did 50/50 method. I already taken out most of the CC when I tried to fix the issue. and taken out all of the cc when reinstalling. So I dunno why. maybe if I reinstalled windows the installed nightlife from Elamigos will work again. But then again Elamigos installer is pretty much incomplete in my opinion many random glitches (like de-aging from YA to Teen, roll back, etc). Soo yeah, I think this issues solved a bit hopefully wont happen in the future.

Thanks guys for tips on how to solve this problem, I really appreciate it :D

PS: I found the body shop haha. It's in CSbin but the icon is hidden somehow?

Bodyshop should be in "...SP9\CSBin" - "TS2BodyShop.exe"

You should always verify that your game runs fine without CC or mods before putting it into your Downloads folder (can be done with a test hood). You could have items that are causing issues, and you don't know this unless you've first done a test to see if everything is there (or not).

50/50 is good for finding items that are causing a spesific issue, especially when the result is easily seen. If the issue goes away when you're moving out one of the file bunches, the problem is most likely in that bunch. If the problem remains, the file is still there.

Yes, I always test it out before putting it inside the folder. However, sometimes glitches occur in the long run rather than in the short run (such as in my case here, where I played for one year and just noticed that two days ago, these items were deleting themselves). I always put low poly cc and light mods (fixing mods) in hope I won't encounter these glitches. But then again, incomplete installer tend to give various unfixed glitches. I will keep your advice in mind. Once again Thank you xD.

Yeah, I did 50/50 on the most conflicted mods or cc since I think it's the most effective way to fix mods clashing in the game.

Have you checked if your antivirus program has suddenly decided to quarantine Sims files? If it's the same items you're having issues with each install, it's possible the AV has decided some random files are bad.

Nope, I don't use any AV, just simple Windows Defender. I don't like AV these days since they are prepaid, so I don't bother installing one. So far, no Sims 2 file has been quarantined or locked up. At least that's what I notice....

Another option might be to look into the condition of your storage device. For example, check the S.M.A.R.T. data for signs of failure and check for any filesystem issues, as these can cause files to suddenly go missing or become corrupted.

Microsoft Defender is an antivirus program, and it is capable of on-access scanning and quarantining threats.

Yeah, it's also gives fire wall. I dont think my sims file locked by it. Even if it did, supposedly, the file regained upon reinstalling. But in my case it didnt. So... I think there is something beyond AV. Or maybe it does secretly locked up my files. Since I rarely get notification

I remember when I installed it on windows 10 home. It constantly blocking the Sims2Sp9 exe. Refusing to open the game due to being threats? Also body shops. That's why I reinstalled windows.

Could be an idea to whitelist the install files, just in case. Should be an option to do so.

Windows blocking the EXE is common, though. It's an "unknown" program (old, Windows doesn't recognize it and wants to be sure you really want to install the program), so you usually need admin approval to install it. Most likely it was that kind of situation. Usually doesn't require a full Windows reinstall, just making sure you are installing as admin (and/or use a different install location than the Program Files location, as Windows can be quite sensitive about that one). In some cases (like if you install with CDs), using other tools like the Grumpy Loader can also help get past some issues (but I don't think that one is needed for no-CD installs).

Reinstalling isn't always an automatic fix for everything, though (and it's also a time-consuming one, especially throwing in a Windows reinstall, too). On occasion, the game can end up with more trouble (missing files, etc.), possibly because the files aren't properly cleaned out first, or because something went wrong in the reinstall process, or because the install files have issues. If there are things you can try first, try those first, and let a full reinstall be the "last resort". Even a "soft reinstall" (removing files from the Sims 2 folder in the Documents location, and letting the game regenerate a full new savegame) is worth trying first. It cleans out all issues that stems from for instance the Downloads and Neighborhoods folders, and leaves any issues left over from the install files. Much easier to diagnose.
