Default How do you know where to "fix" a world?
Hi everyone, sorry if this is a weird question

I like doing some cosmetic edits to premade worlds on CAW from time to time, but been wondering how people do it to improve routing etc

I know there's some fixed versions of worlds like ellacharmed's but I never really understood how they come to be. Do players just go around the map looking for bad routing patches? Is there a mod that help them identify the problematic spots? I find it really interesting but always been curious about the process.

If anyone have any insights, I'd be happy to hear!

That is a really clear tutorial about how to find routing issues. Do you have one about how to fix them? That may fall under things you expected CAW users to already know.

Use the blue non-routing paint. Change the brush to square, that's easier in most parts. Try to make the edges of the blue paint as straight as possible, like in the "good routing grid" example. The blue paint should be applied in large chunks, not in small splotches. For isolated single dots, it would be better to just move the surrounding objects around to cover that single dot.
Or alternativly, add a small rock or plant in that place.

After you finished an area, rebuild the routing data (the option is under the View menu) which can take a moment, depending on your world size and complexity of routing grid. Then check again if you got it all covererd. Else, rinse and repeat.
