Hello, I'm trying to update my collection of Maxis sims (linked here: https://modthesims.info/showthread.php?t=678740). These are complete sims (with new outfits) that were made by Maxis and uploaded to the official Sims 2 site, or the Sims 2 international sites (for example DieSims2).

I have the sims from MissMaxoid here, plus a few extra that are in my download.

These are the sims that I have:






The Party Peepers are missing the sim (there are only the glasses) and for the Lycos dog I only have the collar (I'm sure there was a dog, plus a house??)


There are lots more Maxis outfits that I have which were included in preorder bonuses (there are game items too). Most of these files are available on the archive here:

There are various versions of this upload available on Archive.org- they all seem to be the same files bundled in different ways though, for example just the store stuff or just one specific pre-order bonus. None seem to contain the original Sims2Packs nor the sims themselves- they are all the clothes (and the mesh, usually labelled as 'simname3D.package).

Out of that lot, I have all of the clothes and meshes, but only one of the sims (the far right male in the Double Deluxe pic).

Does anyone else have any links to Maxis complete sims (either in Sims2Pack format or else as the extracted packages)? Perhaps there are some I'm not aware of that you have seen.

Just to clarify, it's the sims including archetypes, clothes and makeup that I'm interested in, not the objects that Maxis shared (they are all freely available and updated too).

Any help or leads would be much appreciated, I thought it would be good to have an archive of the complete Sims that I could share on SFS and Archive.org.

With my memory problem I don't remember how to use them but in my upload to Sim File Share there are sims package files.

They seem to contain the same files as are in the archive.org collection as I mentioned previously:

So yes, they contain clothes and hair, but unfortunately not the sims themselves.




The way Maxis named the package files for the Sims they shared is confusing- George_3D, Becka_3D and Jack_3D are not sims, but meshes (for accessories or clothes).

If we look at hilary Duff (one of the complete sims I do have) we can see that there is a hair mesh, face archetype, sim, makep and clothes mesh:


I think possibly people were only interested in the meshes and textures, so the sims were mostly discarded. I'll keep on searching though! Thank you for your help, much appreciated.

Hello @simsample (fellow archivist completionist friend)! I think I found the Lycos house here. I thought I was a member at that site but none of my log-ins worked. Looking at the comments it looks like it really is the official sims2pack file

And SimEchoes has an incentives page, I didn't look at everything but Shelby is a sims2pack and the 2007 Party Peepers is a sims2pack with George so that's promising

SimsEchoes also has an Other Page, scrolling down there's a "EA_Exclusive Lots Found In Foreign Games" link edit: never mind, I've downloaded these before. Somewhere somehow someone got the "lore" wrong and this has been floating around online as exclusive content but it's really lots that came with University (?)

Dearest @shastakiss Thank you so much! I completely forgot about SimEchoes. They actually have some sims I didn't have (I just had the clothes). They also have some bad links there but you can browse to the file list and they are there to download.

Yes the party peepers has the sim there too! Some downloads are just clothes and no sim, but no matter.

(Yes the lots are just Uni lots)

Unfortunately, I've tried to register at Simsfans UK many times, to no avail. I've tried different email addresses, different browsers etc, but I don't receive any confirmation email. If I try to register again it says my username exists, but I can't login without confirming! I've sent them emails as well as messages on the contact us page. I've sent LadyAngel a message via email from this site today, see if that works!
