I'm sick to death of YouTube's copyrighting. It's pathetic. Surely getting songs and footage featured in videos is a GOOD thing, because people with dicover those films/TV shows/songs and go out and buy them?

Mainly, this is a personal rant, as I now have two copyright strikes out of a possible 3 because YouTube are threatening to terminate my account if I make another copyrighted video.
Which is stupid, as there is no way of knowing if the visual or audio content is copyrighted without uploading it, and there's not much point in deleting a disabled/copyrighted video, when they might undisable it later on, and no action may be taken anyway.

Example: If you are uploading a song you can avoid copyright if you wait 30 seconds and then, you start the video. But that's really boring...

yeah, once I did a video of kitten and puppies and I added a funny video taken from a web page. I said 3 TIMES where I took the video but... youtube delete it...

I heard you just have to put this in the description:
"Copyright Disclaimer Under Section 107 of the Copyright Act 1976, allowance is made for "fair use" for purposes such as criticism, comment, news reporting, teaching, scholarship, and research. Fair use is a use permitted by copyright statute that might otherwise be infringing. Non-profit, educational or personal use tips the balance in favor of fair use."
As that means YouTube have to apply to fair use laws, and cannot block your video without going to court, which they're not going to.

Maybe youtube is trying to hide the fact that they copyright block your youtube vids by allowing you to view your own ones.
