I found it, finally. I can now die in peace.

Here's an original version of a popular tune, see if you can name it, without looking at YT. Shouldn't be too hard.

Here's a later version.

That's really cool @ScaryRob and I love to hear how each artiste who has recorded it has adapted and rearranged it a bit.

I think I've posted some similar before (cover versions of old songs), I remember one example when my daughter was very young and she liked this song, so of course we dug out the 45" of this song which it was sampled from. And I impressed (or bored)colleagues many years ago by knowing the far superior (in my opinion) track that this monstrosity (sorry to anyone that likes it )was sampled from.

My favourite is this though (apologies if I posted this before)- Black Box's 'Ride on Time' which was inspired by a very tiny bit of Loleatta Holloway's song 'Love Sensation'. The bits they used (a mishearing of Loleatta singing 'you're right on time' and 'you just walk right in') occurs at around 1:40 onwards, but inspired a whole 4 and a half minute (slightly controversial) hit for Black Box. Very clever I think!

Got any more covers/ samples and their originals?
