Default Replace the EA top shape by another one
Hello! I saw that some creators were able to replace a part of the body mesh, such as chisami feet and cmar top. How can I edit the downloaded files and replace their body shapes in S3PE for personal use? I already tried to make them as accessory, but it doesn't look well in the game.

As you said, there are already several body CAS replacement parts out there. What are you trying to do? Just swapping geoms in S3PE usually won't work. It's generally a bit more work than that.

I see. I was hoping there was an easier way to do this. Does this mean I would need to redesign the files? I don't have enough experience =(.

This topic should probably be moved to the create section. But for now, almost nothing is "easy"... but when you want something that you can't find, THAT is how modders are born! ))) Exactly what are you hoping to do? You're a bit light on details. If you just want to replace a nude top mesh, that's not too difficult. If you want it to work with Cmar's sliders, that requires a bit more work.

I'd like to replace the EA body shape and use the ones I prefer for some outfits for personal use. It would be awesome to make ones compatible with these sliders as well. I agree that this topic should be changed to that section too =). I would like to try it.

Again, you are very brief in saying exactly what you want to replace. "Body shape" means little. I have no idea what you prefer? So, it's kind of difficult to tell you much more than basics.

Open TSRW and find a top, bottom or outfit that is similar to the "body shape" you want. Clone and save the file. Export L1, L2 and L3 .wsos and save. Since you were talking about using s3pe, I guess you have a geom to use? Use MTK to convert the geom to .wso. Next, replace bones, if the mesh doesn't have bones. Use seam fixer, then add morphs, using the L1 you exported from TSRW. Import your .wso to TSRW.

Now replace textures as needed. Export your new package and done. Those are the bare bones, since I don't have much info to work with.

I would like to replace the body mesh because it would look more realistic for some clothes with thin fabrics, like swimsuits, lingerie, etc. The creator JoshQ used the cmar's female top in some of his creations.

I know JoshQ very well. He's my mentor. He didn't use Cmar's top mesh... MedBod is his mesh, and has different body proportions than standard EA, or Cmar's mesh. If your goal is to use MedBod to remake EA outfits, or other CC garments, I'll tell you that is somewhat more advanced meshing.

On his page he has clothes that have the barbie/EA version, the cmar version and the medbot one, he writes about it in the description of the files. I have already tried all these versions in the game. I was looking for an easy method. But if it is too complicated to do it, better leave it . Thanks for everything!

Have you downloaded anything from that page? Josh hasn't made garments for anything other than MedBod for quite a few years, as far as I know. MedBod is a "thicker" girl at the waist, and bigger shoulders and butt. Tops and bottoms don't align to EA standard at the waist. MedBod uses the EA ankle position, so all of his shoes work on any Sims 3 female bottom... separate tf and af.

If you wanted to convert Josh's garments to align to EA waist, it's possible, but the general body proportions remain. Also, MedBod nude top doesn't work with Cmar's sliders. There's a difference in vertex count.
