I'm sure the deal with that is to force you to keep visiting the store on the offchance that there's a new freebie, in the hope that you'll buy something else while you're there. Bait and switch

A tactic that works, btw -- I just went to Sears for a budget priced dishwasher on sale that I'd carefully picked out on the internet, and walked away with a much more expensive model >< But it has more sprayers! and fold-down racks!

In addition to that free clock, there are also these:

Little Sailor
Bronze Spyglass of Yore
Globe of Antiquity
An Adventurer's Tools
Tulip Jacket
Ancient Stone Mural
Ancient Lucre
Pile of Papyrus

What is interesting is the clock, sailor boy outfit, and the Tulip Jacket were "free" items you got if you purchased a certain amount of Sim Points, back in November if I remember right. All the other stuff is from the Explorer's Loot set that you could download after you registered World Adventures.

Default Easter Egg?
Ooooh, I like the tulip jacket. Thanks Gobot101.

Does any one know what the hidden Easter Egg is on the site? The news said it was something good so I'm curious to what it is. Do you think any of the freebies listed here are the Easter Egg?

Wow thanks Suzetter and Gobot for the updates! This is fantastic - everyone loves an EA freebie. Although some of those Explorer's Loot item files are not working at the moment *le sigh*

Srikandi - could you start a new stickied thread in which we can list EA freebies and updates. This would be uber handy.

Thanks for listing all of the items! I hadn't found them yet. I did want to mention though that I looked at the Explorers Loot from my download "purchase" history at the store and I didn't see these items there so I think that these could be new.

I'll have to wait to download them though...I keep getting an error message too on all of the explorer items. The clothing worked just fine. Yesterday I had trouble with the Diva dress but it finally worked today! Hopefully tomorrow the explorer stuff will work...they do look pretty cool. =)

I don't have mod privs in this forum, but I'm sure those who do will consider it. (I'm actually theoretically a retired mod, but apparently one never loses the tag, heh.)

You're right. I knew they were related to World Adventures in some way, they are the preorder gifts.

These are great! Thanks for the heads up. The clothes are working but the other stuff... still is not.

ninotchka, I'm pondering stickying. Like everyone else here, I love an EA freebie, but the reports of non-functioning links concern me.

For those who can't get the spyglass/globe/papyrus/etc to work: have you registered your copy of WA on the site?

I've registered on the site, but I assume the links don't work because I didn't preorder.

I noticed with the free coffeemaker that I had to have the game running in the background to download it. I haven't tried that with the spyglass, etc. yet.

All my games are registered and I have tried it with the game running and without the game running.

Since it says please try back later I was hoping it would work later.

Someone else said they had trouble with the Diva dress earlier but got it later and the exchange has had it's share of problems ....

I just tried clicking on the links listed here and they led me right to the individual pages for the explorer loot stuff.

I'd hate to see anyone miss out on an EA freebie so here's the https.

I'm finding this very interesting, both of those new free items were "free" items you got if you bought sim points late last year. Funny that EA is giving them for free after many people rushed to get them by buying sim points.
