Default Chapter 12: At Last
These photos were done with photoshop. Unfortunately I still can't afford to buy it so I got the 30-day free trial. I wish I could have it for my next story. Enjoy the last chapter!

Chapter 12: A Dream Come True

"Dean!" cried Audrina, rushing up to her little brother and embracing him into a tight bear hug. "Where have you been? How are you? You ok?" she asked without letting Dean answer the first question.

"I'm fine. I've been here for the past month," he replied.

"What? Why?" asked Justin.

"I ran away from my abusive foster parents and he found me, although I wish he hadn't."

"Dean, George is dangerous! He killed Mom!" exclaimed Justin.

"I know. When I saw Alisha for the first time, I knew something was wrong. She looked too much like Mom so I put two and two together and came to that conclusion. I would've left, but I didn't want to leave Alisha."

"You better not had told anyone, boy!" yelled Greg.

Dean walked up to Greg with no fear. His nostrils flaring and his veins bulging with rage. "I can't believe you, man! How could you? You were like family to us! I hope you and my father both burn in hell!"

"Look, the bitch got what she deserved! As far as I'm concerned, I did you all a favor. You didn't have to grow up with a whore of a mother!"

Audrina put a hand on Dean's shoulder to prevent an attack. Dean glanced over at his sister. Audrina nodded over to the glass framed door. Dean looked to see what she was hinting at. A cop car. He then turned to Greg and gave him an evil grin. "At least you got something out of it, right?" Dean asked rhetorically. "A little girl who looks up to her daddy. She's not stupid, Greg. She knows who you are and what you're about. It's just too bad that you'll never see her again."

"What are you talking about?" he asked.

Just then two cops bursted in the front door, holding their guns in place in front of Greg. "Greg Thomas? You're under arrest! Anything you say or do will be held against you in the court of law," recited one of the officers as he handcuffed Greg and escorted him to the cop car, awaiting his arrival in the darkened street.

Audrina, Justin, Dean, and Alisha watched anxiously on the front porch steps. Audrina looked up at her brothers and smiled. Finally, she had her family back. Even if they didn't have parents, at least they had each other. "So who called the cops?" asked Justin.

"I did," said Alisha.

They all stared surprisingly at the little girl. "I heard him. I heard everything. So I tip-toed out of my bedroom and into the kitchen and called the police. I hope I didn't do anything wrong!" she cried.

Audrina kneeled in front of Alisha and pushed a strand of hair out of her face. "You did the right thing," she said, smiling. "We're proud of you."

"What's going to happen to me?"

"Why, you're going to stay with me, of course! Greg isn't your only family, you know. You have two brothers and a sister who love you very much!" Alisha smiled and gave Audrina a hug.

"Hey wait! What's gonna happen to me?" pannicked Dean.

"Don't worry," said Justin. "We'll figure something out."

Default Chapter 13: Dear Mom

March 3rd, 2007

Dear Mom,

Hi, it’s me, Audrina. I miss you so much! A lot has happened since Justin and I found Dean. Justin’s adoptive parents took in Dean. The mother recently had another baby; a girl name, Lori. They have nine children now!

Alisha is living with us now. She’s so beautiful, Mom! She looks just like you! She’s fun to have around, too. It gives me a chance to practice my mothering skills. Speaking of mother, guess who’s going to be one? Yes, me! I’m in my second trimester already. I wish you could be here to see your grandchild.

April 29th, 2007

Dear Mom,

It’s been awhile, I know. Wanna know what we’ve been up to? Well, we bought a house. It’s cute; nothing fancy. It’s a one story, three-bedroom, and two-bath. It’s just enough space for all of us to have our own rooms. The backyard is even big enough to have a dog if we wanted to!

I bet you’re wondering how we were able to buy a house. Ethan got a job as a Sports Writer. I’m not quite sure what a Sports Writer is, but it pays really well. I, myself got a job as an executive assistant. Remember Gina? Well, her father owns an advertising company. Maybe in a few years, I’ll be able to work my way up and be paid the big bucks!

And here’s some more news…I got married! To a wonderful man name Ethan! He’s great, Mom! He helped me a lot through this whole thing. We didn’t have a big ceremony; just family and close friends in the backyard. It was best day of my life!

June 13th, 2007

Dear Mom,

Oh, Mom, finally! Finally your grandchild is here! It’s a girl! Her name is Stacia. Stacia Davis. Sounds like a celebrity’s name, huh? Well, maybe she will be someday. Or maybe she’ll be a doctor or a lawyer or a…Oh whatever. I don’t care as long as she’s happy and healthy! Oh, Mom, she’s beautiful! She has our infamous green eyes! Right now it looks like her hair is a light brown. Maybe it’ll be blond like yours! Or maybe it’ll be brown like mine and Ethan’s! Oh, here I go again; who cares, right? I’m just so happy she’s in our lives!

August 20th, 2008

Dear Mom,

How are you up there? Oh gosh, I can’t believe it’s been a year since I’ve written to you! Not much has happened, except that Stacia grew up so fast! She’s one years old now and is getting more beautiful by the day! Ethan is absolutely smitten by her! This little girl is going to be such a daddy’s girl!

We spend a lot of time outdoors. Stacia loves playing in the front yard. Sometimes we bring her rocking horse outside and Alisha will just watch her. She loves her little niece. They’re so sweet together.

Yes, life is good, Mom. Although it would be a lot more better if you were still here. I love you, Mom! Don’t ever forget that!

I have to go now. Stacia’s calling me. Talk to you soon, Mom!

Love Always,
Audrina Davis

Thank you all for reading and for being supportive! Without you all, there wouldn't be any inspiration or motivation for me to keep writing! You guys are the best!! I love you all!

Wow so many comments! Thank you very much! I really, really, really appreciate it! I was a bit worried of how the ending would turn out, but now that's it's done, I'm quite proud.

I've written out half of the sequel so far. I just have to take the pictures. Like I said earlier, the intro for the sequel, Stacia's Way, will be posted either Friday or Saturday. So keep an eye out for it!

Special thanks to everyone who I've blew up their inboxes asking for help! You know who you are!

Great story!!!

(Regarding your Photoshop: Check out Photobie at http://www.photo-freeware.net/photobie.php

(Or you can just go to Photobie.com and click the Download link, but we are hoping to get even farther up the list of most popular downloads from the other site.)

It is free, and will do just about everything that Photoshop does. (Including support for masks and most filters.) And if you join the Photobie club forum you can make requests for features that you would like to see. He updates every couple of months.

Ok, this is a bit of a shameless plug, especially as he made me a moderator on his forum. Sorry. But the program really is worth checking out.

And if you want to join the club the link is http://www.photobie.com/club/forum/index.php

I am Ghost. My husband is sidneydoj. I post, he downloads, and I wanted to keep my post count.

Oh wow! This was a GREAT read, stormy! Now that I finally finished this school year I had more time to skim through the stories available and really, I loved yours! Very action packed and full off wonderfully pulled off cliffhangers (luckily I was able to read it all in one go)!

Yeah, so I wanted to congratulate you on the beautiful story and say that I'm looking forward to anything else you may write!
