A few questions!
Hi! :howdy: I just wanted to know a few things.

1. I've read that this expansion was dissapointing and a waste of money. Is this true?

2. Do the cats and dogs go through life stages like the human sims?

3. Is it true that you can become a werewolf in this expansion?

4. Do any new lots or neighborhoods become available with this expansion?

5. What does anyone think is the best thing about this expansion?

6. If you don't reccomend this expansion, which one do you recommend?

7. Is it safe and easy to get this off of EA Link?

Thanks to all who answer some or all of my questions!

Here you go...

1. I've read that this expansion was dissapointing and a waste of money. Is this true?

It depends what you're expecting. It brings cats, dogs, parrots and wormrats...and quite a few bugs. There is a patch which doesn't fix them all. There are no new hairstyles. The animals are cute, but sort of limited.

2. Do the cats and dogs go through life stages like the human sims?

They go through 3 stages: puppy/kitten, adult, elder.

3. Is it true that you can become a werewolf in this expansion?

Yes.

4. Do any new lots or neighborhoods become available with this expansion?

No new neighbourhoods. New lots, yes. And some new families.

5. What does anyone think is the best thing about this expansion?

The animals, for sure. It's cute to have a little cat or dog around the house.

6. If you don't reccomend this expansion, which one do you recommend?

Nightlife, or Seasons. They include a lot more items, scenarios, interractions. Neighbourhoods too. A lot more to add to your sims' lives than just a cat or dog.

7. Is it safe and easy to get this off of EA Link?

Yep.

1. I've read that this expansion was dissapointing and a waste of money. Is this true?

It really does depend on what you're expecting. I actually never experienced any of the bugs, and I quite liked the idea of giving my sims a furry friend to love, but like ghanima says, it doesn't really add much more than that. If you can only get one expansion, this isn't really the best choice. The furniture that comes with it, and the new fishtank are all great tho. the main thing that bothers me with pets is the time it takes to load a family that has a pet every time you start up the game. it takes my computer about a minute to even bring up the family information.... and i have a really good computer

2. Do the cats and dogs go through life stages like the human sims?
Yes. the puppy stage lasts about 3 days and is cuuuuuute. the adult stage is about 20 something days. (i think its longer for cats than it is for dogs) and then i don't really know about the elder stage...

3. Is it true that you can become a werewolf in this expansion?
Yes, but apparently its kinda lame... like cutom skintones don't change i think...

4. Do any new lots or neighborhoods become available with this expansion?
new lots, but no new neighbourhoods... there are both new houses and new community lots (2 petshops and a couple of parks i think)

5. What does anyone think is the best thing about this expansion?
I really liked the furniture. lol

6. If you don't reccomend this expansion, which one do you recommend?
Seeeeeaaaasons. nightlife and ofb are ok too.

7. Is it safe and easy to get this off of EA Link?
Yup, really really easy actually. just slow.....

1. I've read that this expansion was dissapointing and a waste of money. Is this true?
Nope. I enjoy dogs and cats. Its quite a thrill and pretty good to watch your animals grow with your sims.
2. Do the cats and dogs go through life stages like the human sims?
Yes. Pupp/kitten-Adult-Elder.
3. Is it true that you can become a werewolf in this expansion?
Yes. You can (I guess from what I heard) defend your home as one, and infect others.
4. Do any new lots or neighborhoods become available with this expansion?
No. Just two pet shops.
5. What does anyone think is the best thing about this expansion?
Hence the Pets name.
6. If you don't reccomend this expansion, which one do you recommend?
Nightlife.
7. Is it safe and easy to get this off of EA Link?
No idea.

Just to reply to the more opinion questions:

1. I've read that this expansion was dissapointing and a waste of money. Is this true?

I adore the puppies and kittens so I still like this expansion, but I think we got gipped in terms of number of interactions available with your pets, pet toys and pet careers. Compared to previous expansions, Pets didn't feel like it brought anything THAT new to the game--even the much-hated University EP at least gave you a new lifestage and neighbourhood. And the extent to which pet-related Wants affect your sims can be really annoying. Some sims never want to do anything else.

But as others said, it depends on what you're looking for. I'm a sucker for that pup following my sim around the place. <3

5. What does anyone think is the best thing about this expansion?

The animals... well, it IS Pets EP. ^^; But it's just nice to have an animated cat/dog instead of the statue CCs.

6. If you don't reccomend this expansion, which one do you recommend?

I don't have OFB or Seasons, so out of the rest I recommend Nightlife. Whole new area to explore, tons more interactions among sims (it seemed my sims only started developing their own libidos AFTER I installed NL--nobody tried a single Make Out autonomously before that!) and Vampires.
