This user has the following games installed:

Sims 3
Default Are subfolders allowed in TS3 download folder?
I knew it was all good for TS2, but I was wondering if it'd interfere with the EA Download Manager.
Thanks!

Yes, they are allowed, but you need to make sure that your resource.cfg is set up correctly:

Priority 500
DirectoryFiles Mods/Files/... autoupdate
PackedFile Mods/Packages/*.package
PackedFile Mods/Packages/*/*.package
PackedFile Mods/Packages/*/*/*.package
PackedFile Mods/Packages/*/*/*/*.package
PackedFile Mods/Packages/*/*/*/*/.package

This allows subfolders 4 deep.

Or, you can download Delphy's Monkey which hsa that same resouce.cfg file and install the easy way.

Would the subfolders put the patterns in the correct category? I am noticing that patterns that I have downloaded, like wood, are not available in the build mode. However they do show in the object mode.

Patterns are categorized by the creator not by where you install them.
