Default I'm in Jail!
Haha, well, it happened. I joined the criminal career and got arrested while at work. They put me in the cop car (actually my sim voluntarily got into the car, wtf?) and drove me to the precint. Now I'm stuck in jail for a few hours. I actually have the options of making new friends, playing dominoes, etc.., just like you get while at work. Also, they took away all my inventory and said I could pick my stuff up on the way out... because they don't want me trying to escape with that bell pepper, haha! It's like Monopoly meets The Sims, and I'm stuck for 3 turns.

Anyway, I'm glad they made it a bit more realistic this time, I'm surprised I was able to swipe so many things and not get caught, though. Seriously, if your sim's a klepto, they should get caught once in a while.

Is the jail an actual building inside the town(like can you visit it?). And is the criminal career the only way to get in jail?

Who can you make friends with? Are there random townies and/or other playable Sims in jail? Or are they like NPC cellmates?

I'd worry just how one might "make friends" in jail. . .

If your sims goes to jail you only hear voices...you are waiting outside the building till they get released.

They have some options in jail, including playing dominoes, working out and making friends..

I guess I am a good Sim' because I have not been in jail! I wish I could experience it but will have to find things to do to get me thrown in jail. I fight at central Park.

I'm in jail... again.. for like, the 5th time, haha. It's getting irritating, but that's the price one must pay for a life of Evil Geniusy Crime! MWAHAHAHAHA!!!

Anyway, yeah, it's just a building, the one you click on to join the law enforcement career. Can't see inside, just the voices and the clink of weight lifting. You just meet random townies. I have a feeling that there are several reasons my Sim keeps getting caught. 1) She used to be a Klepto and stole A LOT of stuff. 2) She's Evil and 3) She's in the Criminal Career.

Ok, so as soon as I went into work, I got arrested, for the 6th time. Does anybody know of a way to become jail proof? A particular trait I can choose, some official I can bribe, haha, anything??

Do you have the unlucky trait?

Yeah, I think the unlucky trait raises your chances of getting caught and the lucky trait lowers it.

I've read of others having the same thing happen, is your athletics skill up to par? There was some mentioning that it had to do with it.*shrugs*

My sim is not an emperor of evil who holds the world hostage.

He only got arrest once before he reached the top.

It is funny to see some sims running around and screaming when they see emperor of evil. :D

Are you married to a cop? Just kidding, I don't think that effects how often you get arrested. Though it should, lol.

Haha, it's funny you should say that because I just married one! I thought it might help, we'll see. I do like my glowing red evil aura that makes sims run for cover whenever I'm around, though. Yay evil!

What guild are you talking about? And I never said anything about having the unlucky trait, if you read my post I said I had the Lucky trait. Also, I wouldn't waste my time with the Mid-Life crisis reward, it's much easier to cheat.

My sim also had the lucky trait and continually got arrested. Even at max athletic skill (for those that keep insisting athletic skill helps, it seems to not help at all) and career level 9, she got arrested 3 days in a row.

I quit the field after reaching the top of the career track because I couldn't stand spending another wasted day in jail (she literally must have been arrested a dozen times by that point, UGH), so I have no idea if the jail visitations would have continued at level 10.

I think arrests are just random, or if they're supposed to be based on anything, broken.

Oooohhh.. guide NOT guild, haha. Wow, that went completely over my head. *** Continues quest to implement spelling and grammar checkers in every forum and chat room on the internets! ***

Thanks for clarifying that.

Also, to the other poster, I just reached level 10 the other night and I still got arrested, so I switched careers after that. I'm pretty sure that it is just a random event, I tinkered around with the force event cheat and got it quite a few times, sooo, it would be nice to see a mod that blocks this particular event *hint hint*

Actually, there is a spell checker of sorts. If you mispell a word, like I just did, (it's actually misspell), it underlines it in red. It won't correct it for you, but definitely tells you it's misspelled. For the correct spelling, just google it. Sometimes the checker underlines words it doesn't recognize, like Google. You can't see this, but the checker underlined google with a small g after I finished typing it, but not Google with a capital G. It recognizes the noun Google, but not the verb google. interesting. Anyway, there IS a spell checker.

That only works in Firefox, and opera and safari if you have plug-ins. But, IE, which for some inexplicable reason, thousands (hundreds of thousands, I'm sure) people still use, does not have the built-in spell checker. Hence the reason websites should have them built-in to their actual sites.
