Default Why do children gotta look ugly
Why are Sims 2 Children so ugly. Why do they look like they have wrinkles when they're children?! Listen, idk if children can have wrinkles in real life, but either way, i don't want my Sim Children looking like a person with an adult's head but with a child's body. ROFL.

Ok i guess but if i looked closely i could see wrinkles and that's kinda annoying. I wonder if its possible to adjust their facial structure so they look like they dont have any wrinkles

Oh, don't worry about that. They are a lot cuter when you play them anyway, because that is when you see the smile, the way the eyebrows move, etc.

Ok thanks, idk why but when i create child Sims in CAS... they look like they have wrinkles. Once again idk if children irl can have wrinkles but yeah.

I don't see wrinkles. I see cheekfolds. It's true that my eyesight is very bad and I'm looking at it on a laptop - but when you play them the resolution will be a lot smaller than that and you won't notice them either unless you're hung up on it. So try to take yourself off the hook!

The thing to remember about young sims is that they need to grow into their faces. The game has mechanical limits, and the vectoring of child faces in Sims 2 genetics comes up against them.

The other thing to remember, when seeing a sim in CAS is, that only strangers are ugly. Once you know and like someone, they just look like themselves and you're happy to see them.

Ugly is in the heart of the beholder.

First two look a bit plain is all. Looks to me like you are using Maxis templates. Use default templates and they won't turn out using those Maxis templates.
Not wrinkles, its the position of the mouth on those particular templates.

Ugly ducklings can grow to be beautiful swans. Sims 2 has more exaggerated face templates so you'll see them more often when making new sims. You can always change them, but it's best to make their faces in the Adult/Elder stage and then age them down to child in CAS. Otherwise, the "cute kids" could have some undesirable features as they age.

If you make sure the parents are "compatible" - that their faces don't have extremely different features, and that both of them look fairly decent as kids/toddlers - it's not too difficult.

Whenever I want the kids to look alright, I tend to make them as adults in CAS (or Bodyshop), then age them down before putting them in a family. There's no point in making them as children...

Also found that the method of blending face templates (you can blend most of them, just stay away from a couple or so partly "broken" ones, potentially even with the fixes) by adding a click or two of this and that makes sims look similar but still different enough - or with some added clicks on various templates, they can look even more unique. You can also make extreme faces, then swipe them closer to some of the templates to even them out.

Using default replacement templates for the faces you don't particularly care for, plus adding non-default templates helps on the selection.

Just in case, here's a video for how to make interesting sims with face templates: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ogUpqPMt0JA (sorry for video, but honestly it's easier shown than read).

(Even if you feel like you are really awful at sculpting faces and so far have only picked a template and stuck with it, this method is pure gold! Personally I'm not too methodical and just click the buttons however many times I feel like instead of rolling numbers - but doing it by numbers can be helpful if you need the guideline. You can do small changes after, without it causing any havoc)

Easy. Agreed with part, disagreed with another part. Happens all the time. I just don't happen to think there's such a thing as an undesirable facial feature. That's a skill issue. But not one it's any business of mine to tell other people to work on.

Well Sorry. In CAS, when i look at children's face it looks like wrinkles rather than cheekfolds, and i think the problem is the randomly generated child sims or the maxis templates just does children horribly, but if you do enough manual adjustements and whatsoever the children will look ok. Idk why the maxis templates or randomly generated sims have not so pleasant faces (at least in my opinion), but if you use the beautiful 1st maxis face templates or do manual adjustements sims will look ok, like most of the sims i get when i randomize or use any other face template than the 1st and second (note: i haven't seen all face templates, so some might be good) they look awful and ugly.
Also i don't use any CC for my sims (i only created one CC and have some CCs but its mostly outfit conversions and beta hairs), as i am happy with the maxis stuff (but sometimes no)

If you don't like the look of the maxis templates, there are defaults and non-defaults you can use.

The non-defaults and DRs don't really count as CC ingame when they've been used to make a sim, so you don't have to worry about removing the templates if you've used them to make sims but no longer want them in your game.

Only thing is that you likely need to keep the "sim/detail" setting on high because player-made templates usually don't come with LODs (when on "low" this setting also causes fused fingers + CC meshes often don't show properly).

It's hardly a skill issue. It's a difference in taste.
