Default All4sims closing
Seems All4sims is closing December 27 - http://www.all4sims.de/index.php?pa...&threadID=16549

So if anyone wants to download or archive some stuff, better get going. Haven't seen any other announcements than a quick one at Simpearls, and this one on their site was a bit hidden (and in German...).

Google-translated message from the page:

Quote:
It's difficult for us, but unfortunately we have to announce that we will be closing All4sims at the end of the year.

The technical problems are increasing and the forum provider no longer provides support for our forum software.
Our forum is outdated and the costs for a new one are unfortunately quite high.

In recent years almost no users have been willing to take part in forum life.
Most people just come to download and don't leave any posts, you don't need a forum for that.

Even if it hurts, it will come to an end. On December 27th, 2023, All4sims will be closed forever.

We would like to thank everyone who has been with us as artists or administrators from the beginning until today.
and all users who enjoyed the Sims and liked our downloads.

Oldbox, Simmy, Clara and I will continue to craft and from time to time show our stuff on tumblr or offer it for download.

Thanks for the nice time,
All the best for the future,

Chalipo, Oldbox, Simmy, Clara and Marcel

If anyone would like to leave us a message, they can do so here:

All4sims closes

EDIT: In the future we will also be found HERE: https://www.simszoo.de. :D

Seems it's gone now.

Just tested with the Wayback machine, and looks like the downloads may not be available through it (at least with the snapshot I tested), so hopefully the files have been archived somewhere.

I managed to download some of the files, but not all (was planning to, but kind of forgot, and remembered two days before, with very limited time to actually download, so only managed to get the Mesh category, some of the Event files, and a few of the ones in the Recolor category).

The message they left was strange.

"In recent years almost no users have been willing to take part in forum life.

It implies that the downloads are available elsewhere.

I don't know about that. They "archived" most of their older items anyway (it used to be linked up to the forum posts, with more pictures and such - in the "archive" area it was just the downloads with pictures and some basic info, without any possibility for interaction. The links linking back to the forum in the "archived" posts were broken. Been that way for several years).

The actual download area for recent uploads had just a few downloads, at least for TS2/TS3 (I didn't venture too much into the other areas).

I get it if it was costly to keep the site up, but would've be nice if they gave a heads-up other than just on their own site. I only randomly happened across a comment on Simpearls, and had to go looking for that post above. Also would've been nice if they'd provided some kind of archive of the items, or at the very least give people more time to download stuff (it took me several hours, and I still couldn't get through it all).

Do they have an archive anywhere at all ?
I have a tumbler account, but there isn't any sims 2 stuff, or at least very little.

Maybe some bits got lost in translation. Perhaps they meant, no point in having this forum if all people do is download, so they closed all of it (not just the discussion part).
