For a problem which is two years old it's really a late warning. I already downloaded 3-4 different malware mods in the last two years.

Installing https://github.com/Oops19/TS4-PrivacyProtector takes 5 minutes and fixes most issues. Unlike other mods it is made to avoid easy bypassing and has been heavily tested.

I still have a copy available here https://modthesims.info/download.php?t=667430 which is blocked by staff as the mod writes a detailed log which is too complicated to read for a normal user. Hopefully they make the mod available again as the main function is to protect the user.
