Default Wild hair for elderly witches and wizards / medieval peasant garb for a 500-lb man
Another day, another WCIF quest
I'm building a Florin neighborhood based on my favorite movie, and it's been a lot of fun, particularly creating Miracle Max and Valerie. Currently the wildest hairstyle I have for her in my catalog is something resembling a hairspray fail from 1986. I'd like something a little more UN-styled, like for someone who maybe has never heard of a hairbrush.

My Max has the Leather Rus hat, by Cynnix, over a bald-top version of the DJ that someone found for me. It's not great, but probably the best I'm gonna find for a hatted version. If anyone has a suggestion for the Max with no hat, let me know.

Finally, my Sim Fezzik is wearing an outfit designed for Shrek. Again, it's likely my best option, given that there's only a handful of ANY kind of outfits available for the very heavy man (let alone a medieval one). But I've been surprised before.

As you can see below, Max and Valerie need a little work - I'm off to the PBKeep for some better outfits. At Inigo's height, Fezzik looks vaguely Shrek-like; stretched out to his normal height of 7'4", however... I downloaded some "Tudor" outfits for the Consort shape, but they didn't seem to work - the textures were all flesh colored. I'm going to look again, but if anyone has any ideas... maybe on someone's blog somewhere there are an assortment of big boy outfits... Seems like I ought to be able to find more than just the odd handful.

I have some ideas regarding Valerie's hair.
My first idea, which didn't pan out and led to me trying to find other options, was to see if there was a female conversion of the hidden male Fuzzy Long. Alas.
My second thought, why not the basegame feathery Long hair? A nice recolor, that's more natural-messy and less styled?
Or how about the Jeanette hair?
Dr Pixel's Windswept Curls is similar to the maxis hair, of course, but I think it has a more carefree feel.
TS3 Frizzy is, well, frizzy, nicely wispy.
Aelia's Shorter Conversion of Nouk's Long Wavy Hair has more lift while still being convincingly wispy.
3t2 Sintiklia Linn, the curly retextures, have great shape and messy feel, although they might be a bit full.

Newsea has some amazing messy hairs designed to look like the sim just got out of bed. Download the picture files here and look through them, then when you see which shape you like, LOTS of creators have done recolours of these, so you can find a lot more.

I'd look at:
Sweet Slumber
Foam Summer
Nightbloom
Battler
Soledad
Ti Amo
Blitz
Disco Ball

Also, some I found individually: Windy City

An edited version of Battler here:

Newsea Holic (I think the second link is non-default?)

Pinocchio

Trapping Wildfire is quite wild.

Also struggled to find direct links to Peggy hairs but try these:

Fh090102 is a wispy, unkempt looking hair under a hat.
Fh81002 is a punky, spikey sort of pixie cut.
4434 male to female conversion - spiked up hair - here's one version https://www.dropbox.com/scl/fi/3e4z...7p8hrtmmrda&e=1
7978 is a messy hair with lots of loose strands
Unsure of the number of this, but this is another messy pixie. (It might be the same as fh81002?) https://simlish.dreamwidth.org/57378.html
J53 https://loosiap.tumblr.com/post/693...er-converted-by

Butterflysims 66 - a messy side ponytail

Maybe number 13 here:

A couple of messier hairs here

This one is a bit neat now, looking at the others but it does look a bit limp and greasy.

One last tip is that if you have most hairs default replaced, some of the Maxis hairs, or very earliest old hair recolours on MTS look greasy and lank in comparison, so it may be worth pulling out a couple of defaults in order to access those textures. They don't look great for most sims, but occasionally you want something to look unkempt!

I use the sims as a psychology simulator...

Wow, that's really great. Thanks for all the ideas and advice! Can't wait to try some of them, and as usual, I'll let you all know which option works best. Cheers again!
