Default Patching your game
Before you patch your game, you should backup your user files. Just in case something goes wrong, you won't lose all your progress.

After you've done that you should remove your Mods folder from "documents/Electronic Arts/The Sims 4".
Patch the game and see if everything works like you expect.

When everything seems to be fine you can go around and see if the mods you have are updated or compatible with your version of the game. If not, don't try and use them anyway. It can harm your game.

If you do encounter problems after patching (e.a. crashing, weird animations, strings of numbers in the action menu) make sure you have done THIS tutorial.
