Default Family Loading Screen Thumbnails Won't Refresh
Hello,

I searched all over for an answer to this but didn't find anything, so if it's already been answered please let me know where!

After finally getting the patch installed I've found that my family thumbnails won't update. I have been able to get the Sims' avatar thumbnails to change just fine using the mirror, but their family thumbnail doesn't change. I've moved some Sims to college and had a twin birth but the families look the same as ever on the neighborhood, though when I click to the detail view the new babies are listed/the college students are gone.

I looked in the Thumbnails folder to see if I could delete anything and force it to refresh them, but didn't see anything that seemed to be related to these family thumbnails. I'd be grateful if anyone could help. ^^

Edit: Forgot to mention - the thumbs in Uni view work just fine. I moved all those teenagers into a dorm and they showed up properly first as teens and then as YAs when I'd gotten them re-dressed. So it seems to be just the main neighborhood with this trouble.

Probably a dumb question but have you returned to the lots more than once? I have seen many times where a teen went to college, or a sim died on a different lot, etc, where the load screen at their home still shows every one. Then when you enter the kid is at college, or you get a message saying "so and so died when visiting a different lot...", etc. Then the next time you load their lot the screen will be updated to reflect family changes. If you have returned to the lots and update has not changed, then I don't know for sure what it would be. You could delete your groups.cache folder, as this seems to help some loading problems. Your game will create a new groups.cache folder when it starts up the next time. Thats all I can think of at the moment. Hope this may help.

Hello,

Hmm. I know that it stays even after I've gone in and returned. I had to leave and return to one particular house several times because the changes I made on the Sims using the mirror wouldn't stick. (They finally did after I deleted the Sims and left and went back in.) I'll try the groups.cache and see if that helps, though, thanks!

Well, it wasn't the groups.cache. I found the familythumbnails file under Thumbnails in my neighborhood folder (gasp!)... I don't know why I didn't look there. Probably because it was too easy? I was poking under the Program Files/EA Games instead. >< Anyway, deleting that forced the game to regenerate it, and now it's working just fine. Thanks for the help!
