Hi everybody,

I was playing with a family that had a boy who just grew into a teenager, but suddenly he got stuck somewhere on the lot. So I deleted him and went to the neighbourhood view (i did this before with a stuck Sim and it worked just fine). When I entered the house again the familypicture you see while loading the lot was verry strange. Because the dad was holding the teenage boy like he was a baby. When I entered the lot the teenage boy was laying on the ground moaning like a baby and he was unselectable. I tried to let the dad pick him up and bring him to the birthdaycake, maybe he would grow up. But the dad couldn't pick up the boy....now I've never seen this before... Can ANYBODY help me?

Hello, I'm not sure I understand "he got stuck somewhere on the lot..." Could you see him? If you could not see him how did you delete him? The normal way to delete a sim is with moveobjects on, go to buy mode, click on the sim with the hand tool and tap delete. Turn off the cheat by typing moveobjects off, exit to neighborhood. When you re-load the house the deleted sim should be standing beside the mailbox. I guess first is this the way you deleted the sim? And if it isn't what procedure did you follow?

He really got 'stuck' on the lot and I could see him. I deleted him the way you discribe with the moveobjects on cheat. But I can't recall if I turned the cheat back off again before returning to the neighbourhood... maybe I should try that!

But if you got a problem with that method, use the Agesims cheat. i dont remember how it was exactly, i always put age on console and press tab and so it appears... um... use that cheat and age the weird sim to child or somewhat and then back to teen.

Probably won't matter about the cheat not being turned off, it is just good habit to do so , that way you do not forget you have it on. I really do not know what happened. I might guess that you did this deletion close to his grow up time? I do not know what kind of time factor is needed for the game to recognize the age transition. It seems for pregnancies it's about 1 hr after the act, but not sure about birthdays. My suggestion is use SimPE and see if you can change him to a teen with it. I am not an expert with SimPE , but have used it for simple things for a good while. You may just need to locate your teen character's file and check the appropriate age box. Or it may be more complicated, hard to say untill you look. Only other suggestion is use a hack like the insimenator and age him to an adult, then back to a teen and see if that clears up the problem. Hope this helps. Good luck.

**EDIT That would be just as good. (I was thinking and typing while you were posting about the agesims cheat. It is the same basic thing as insim, just don't need a hack to do it.)

well, turning off the moveobjects off cheats didn't do the trick. The boy appeared next to the mailbox, but still laying as a baby and making strange noises. I tried to make him selectable with the testingcheatsenabled true cheat and tried to let him age but that didn't worked either. I also tried to let him die with the Rodneys death creator, but that ALSO didn't work. Well, not many options left... I'm going to try and change his age in SimPE and otherwise I really don't know what to do...

I have been thinking about this problem some more. I remember way back when I only had the sims2 that I had a child end up laying by mailbox. I don't remember if she was previously deleted or not. I went into SimPE and she was shown with no life state at all checked. I remember I checked child, returned to game and she was standing by mailbox and as I remember she played ok after that. It has been a while though.

Well, FINALLY!!!
I've tried the SimPE tactic and it worked! The boy looked healty and acts normal again. But the family photo (during loading the lot) is still strange. His is still laying in the arms of the dad like a baby... well, I shouldn't be naging anymore.

well, I've tried to take a pic. But, my computer is quite an old one and though it's really pimped... it's really slow. I'm still waiting for a new processor. I must say, it's a pitty I didn't took a picture! Maybe, next time...

well that has happened to me before and I couldn't figure out how to fix it but if you try to do any options with this sim you could delete another sim so just be careful. Otherwise I don't know what you should do.

i've hade this problem before and i tried everything to resolve it unless i'm mistaken there's no cheat to resolve it sorry

Just save after your sim finishes his/her age transition. It will prevent it from happening. Also, if you delete all the sims except the one acting like a baby, the social worker will come, but not be able to pick up your sim which will end up in a infinate loop which is very dangerous. You won't be able to exit, exit to neighborhood, or save. The only way to close it is using task manager.

This happened to me when I tried to install a house and family, then got tired of waiting for it to install and quit the game. Using Insimenator, I summoned the people in the family, both of them, to another family's house. They were laying on the ground cooing and acting like babies. First, I used the family tree cheat, and added each of them to the family. Then, I used the select age cheat, I chose the adult age, then each of them stood up normally and the baby nonsense ended.

I don't know if you have Insimenator, but if you do, it might be worth a try.
